My capital idea

Capital ships should be used for the exploration and colonization of star systems within the galaxy, which do not have star-gates.

The capital ship would align toward a nearby star, enter warp, and enter "interstellar space" where they're able to warp light-years to a nearby star.

The ship would need to be limited to normal warp speeds, and take many hours in "interstellar space" to reach the new system. The capital ship can then use a cyno-gen to titan bridge sub-caps and other capital ships alike into the local system.

There would be no stations or local channel, just like in wormhole space, but it would give players an incentive to explore new territory for profit, and give capital ships an extremely important role in the game.

the ultimate in AFK.

fly for several hours in x,y,z direction and then be a jump bridge. Not really worth training for in my view.

I think capital ships would make nice planters. Fill them up with greenery and charge admission...system picnic spot. Hell, we could even put waterfalls in them! Imagine taking your date to The Capital Roadside Picnic Area!

The right to free speech doesn't automatically carry with it the right to be taken seriously.

Good job at completely missing the point.

You could easily apply some ship rigs to speed up your warp, and the skill could allow you to travel at faster and faster speeds in interstellar travel. And it'd be a small price to pay to get a solar system for your corporation where all the resources are yours.

Titan pilots already sit around in POS's and bridge people. They currently don't even get used in combat. This is a solution that could restore their usefulness.

I think your idea needs pictures or something OP.

Can you explain it to a drunk guy?

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Most doubts i had before were swept away by this beautiful diagram, but would there be a difference in warping a dread or a super or a titan? Also am i able to delegate fighters during this' 'warp'?

1 light year is 63239.7 au.

Take the warp speed of a capital, and the fact that most stars are more than 1 light year apart, and figure out why this idea is bad.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I personally think that bigger ones should go slower. it works with the whole mass thing. Or maybe faster. Maybe the bigger ones can travel farther in the same amount of time. I haven't decided what I'm going to make CCP do, yet.

When EVE is spread thin over as many systems as the server can support and no fighting is going on from all the capitals warping and grabbing systems for their few friends, what then?

CCP - Building ant hills and magnifying glasses for fat kids

Not even once

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Really? A bad idea? I already did the calculation, sir.
Capitals travel at 3 AU/s.
5 light years is 316,198 AU

Jenshae Chiroptera, you would only have a few systems accessible via this method. it would be on the outskirts of null sec, and there would be plenty of fighting over the systems. Add a new constellation to every region on the outskirts of nullsec. DUH

Is this warp gonna cost anything besides cap... Like fuel or anything else?

Patience. And i would assume they would limit your warp to what your cap is capable of. maybe reactivate your warp drive every few hours. it'd make it less likely that you'd die from going afk

Yes, it's definitely good idea - to have another layer of isolated systems and another layer of unprobable und-scanable ships.
Also, even in our days nobody would pack a ship full of people to find a solar system. There is a probe for that. And if there is no probe fitting for a task, build a bigger probe.

Good job at not having a point. Your "issue" is like, what do we do with the old tractor tires? Why, spray paint them fluorescent green and fill them with petunias.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.
