Upon opening the GalNet link, a news recording plays, two reporters sitting behind a desk

"A recent terrorist attack on the Imperial settlement of Kor-Natla has been linked to the attack on the FIO HQ here in Violuria. Now, our investigation into the attack on Violuria was shut down due to national security concerns but the similarities between this attack and the attack on Kor-Natla cannot be overlooked, we’ve managed to obtain vid-feed footage of the attack and its immediate aftermath. We must of course warn viewers that some images may be disturbing."

The feed cuts to a shaky, silent vid-feed, rows of MIO vehicles and security forces form a cordon around a tall, golden hued skyscraper, the scene is bedlam. Civilians run in a panic from the cordon, behind them teams of MIO security take up positions around the building before some begin to move towards the entrances. A small dot can be seen swinging from a shattered window on the top floor, the feed zooms onto it, showing an older Ethnic Amarrian woman hanging from her neck, clearly dead. Horrifically, her mouth has been stuffed with white feathers. The picture zooms back out as a large, horned skull is projected onto the building. It appears to bleed from the eyes and mouth before, in a series of staccato detonations, the building falls in a violent expulsion of smoke, dust and debris.

The report returns to the news room. The Anchor frowns before turning back to the camera “We’ve brought in criminologist Marcel Chatrose, Mr. Chatrose, what’s your analysis?” The Camera pans to a fairly pudgy individual, he wipes his forehead and takes a sip of water before speaking “Now, whilst there are marked differences in methodology between this attack and the one on the FIO building, the use of white feathers as a calling card has been seen in a number of assassinations of corrupt Federal officials and criminal entities over the past three years, to the point where the giving of a white feather has, in some criminal circles been construed as a death threat. We haven’t as yet seen the White Feather motif in an international assassination. Additionally, the target, in this case a local MIO official is in keeping with the White Feather’s modus operandi, as for a possible Blood Raider connection, that is new.”

The feed simply ends.

I always find it odd when I go out and ravage a blood raider fleet, killing how many people, I am called "Hero." Yet when war hits our home worlds suddenly it's all doom and gloom and prayers. I for one am glad to leave the empire, and humanity, behind.
