I am unable to connect to the test server. Using Windows Vista, I get the launcher the hang, then close as soon as I try to type my username. Please advise.

Devs will likely help you >>Here<<

I had the same problem for my previous computer, but I found no fix for it unfortunately.
I never asked, so you might have better luck.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

We will need more information on what exactly is happening. Best would be to write bug reports and attach the latest launcher logs, which you can find in \launcher\cache\ of your Singularity folder. If you don't want to write a bug report you can also paste the log into http://pastebin.com and link it here.

I am a bit confused while reading these logs: Are you trying to use the same client + launcher for both Tranquility and Singularity? Please do not try this, but copy your client and have a separate client for Singularity. Otherwise you can easily break your installation for Tranquility.

As far as I can see from these logs the launcher tries to update itself from the TQ launcher to the Singularity launcher - but then the logs stop and I don't know what happened further.

Yes that is what I am doing. Came accross a youtube video that I have deleted, that showed how to set up the test server. Works on windows 7 but not on vista (the PC I use most often) . At the time I had forgotton I needed to copy the file and then modify it not just create and modify the shortcut.
