Hi. Several days ago i've tried to download EVE client for test server. Launcher was update successful and downloading of patch started... with speed less than 1 MB per hour! I waswait 8 hours and launcher downloaded something like 5 MB. I aborted downloading...
Yesterday i started downloading test client again and problem appeared again. 20 hours passed but launcher downloaded only 5MB. Proof below: Screenshot
My internet connection is fast enough to download this patch very fast (something like 50 Mbit/s) and it's 100% not problem of my internet connection. Downloading of patch doesn't aborting, it's continious but very slow.
I asked several of my friends about this problem, and they said that they have same problem with downloading of test client.

Hi,

Please try first if the patching process might be partially blocked by your firewall, antivirus or proxy. You can also check how fast you can download a file through a browser: http://res.eveonline.ccpgames.com/af/af01a01a79a60851_ef9a766cab29d255e16678bbda414e64 (this is a small icon with 23kB). You can also try to download this huge file with 188MB for measuring your download speed: http://res.eveonline.ccpgames.com/0a/0a73280ed358c582_37d6a8a44f944ff96c891c2d52403558.

Interesting might also be a tracert to res.eveonline.ccpgames.com in a command window.

If you do not get any further, then please try to run the launcher with added debugging and then create a bug report and attach the zipped launcher log to it. For this please add the option /log:debug to the shortcut for starting the Singularity launcher. The log can be found then in this subfolder \launcher\cache\ of your Singularity folder.

I checked firewall, it' doesn't block game launcher.
I tried to download test files that you linked and it downloading fast enough. To download file 188 MB i was need something like a minute.
I did tracert and it looks like this. Sorry for russian log in console but Windows writes only localized logs.
I launched client with added debugging and got this log. Just for information: launcher downloaded 169 KB in something like 20 minutes period.

Hi, short update: Unfortunately we were not able to find the problem yet, but we will deploy a new version of the launcher tomorrow, which includes better logging.

I assume it is most likely that something with your connection is interfering with the launcher download, but we have no idea what. Maybe some AV, which tries to scan each file directly at download and blocks the launcher somehow while doing so. Maybe some proxy or ISP, which dislikes how the launcher is requesting these files. But this is only speculation so far - it would be great to know more about it.

Ok, i will try to update launcher to new version with logging tomorrow. I'm sure that it's not AV because it was set to not try to scan each file directly and i hope, you will see this tomorrow in log.

For those with Kapersky Anti-Banner: I just heard from one of our bug hunters, that download problems are fixed in the newest version of Kapersky. It might be good to run rescache.exe once to repair possibly corrupted files.

A huge shout-out to ISD BH Tallman and the whole bug hunter team for their help!
