have you done the math on the tottal amount of time it would save when mining buy all the miners mining how much extra ore/ice would be mined in this case

since you know it wouldn't harm anything i'm sure you must have so how much is it?

What I think would be nice is the ability to compress ore, gas and ice with normal barges. Compressing the resource wouldn't be like the Rorq but would instead allow more cargo volume to be achieved.

This would require either require a new T3 Mining barge with the ability to add either a Ore, Ice or Gas Compression Cargo bay as a module along with the necessary rigs and modules that create the compression process.

These barges would be very expensive 200 million with their modules costing between 20 and 40 million apiece.

Or special rigs and modules to equip the old barges with.

No. the rettie holds 27.5 at level 5. if you want to hold 26, dont skill it past level 4.

The retties job does not revolve around ice mining. And the world does not revolve around you (which is what your idea reeks of and is why it is getting such contempt).

No.

Think about it, all this will do is obsoleting haulers in the process. I am all for diversity but I am against flying a swiss army knife.

If you are in a corporation that isn't filled your alts and actual people you can ask someone to haul and someone to mine with or for you while you do something for them that they cant.

I guess that is the reason many people have alts to do all the things at the same time.

And if you cannot 'trust' your fellow mates, you shouldn't be in the corporation in the first place.

its a matter of time also not just trust. Hauling is boring and best done on alts unless you wish your corpmate to quit the game, or its your corpmates alt and hes doing something else at the same time.
