Christmas gifts

I was waiting for a "Redeem" button which is usually the case with gifts... i did not read the blog because I made the erronous thing of assuming it would be one way... and when I found out that my assumption was faulty it was already to late :(


This is an indication of the point the CCP is out of touch and communication with its customers on many levels.

They should have sent a EvE mail to all the players in game.

Customers should not have to hunt down the freaking info for stuff like this. Many assumed it would be like gifts on on past years through the redeem button. Not some obscure mention in a Dev BLOG about your account screen.

I saw 3 different advert images upon opening Eve during the period you claim your gifts, Also the MoTD for days, asside from downtime said about claiming gifts, there were several news articles about claimining gifts, tons and tons of forum threads, admittedly mostly about neural remaps, which were related to the christmas gifts. There was even a dev blog.

So unless you didnt read anything, didnt visit the forums, or for some odd reason didnt check daily to see if theres a new dev blog, then theres no excuse...

Well did not get my gifts boucause i wasnt reading the adverts or looking in forums...funy thing is i knew about the gifts
but thought it will be like in the previous years....cristmas/redeem items/choose item Voila

They used to say EvE has the most intelligent MMO players. The sheer stupidity and lack of attention to detail demonstrated in This thread drops us to third or fourth on the list.

I visit the forums when I need a specific answer. I read the dev blogs when I'm REALLY bored. (read hardly ever), and if I got 3 advert images, I'd be surprised if they weren't covered by any of the numerous patch messages that pop up, won't go away until you tell them to install or not, and can't be moved. And of course, AFTER the patch is installed, that "one time" message, doesn't come back.

I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't sign up for EVE to be social networking in the forum. If I need a question answered, I'll look to the forums. If I want to buy/sell a toon, I'll look to the forums. If I want to moan, groan, whine and ***ch about the lastest Goon scam, I'll come to the forums.

But that's about it. In the 4 + years I've played eve, I can say this is the first time I've seen a holiday gift FUBARed the way this one was. I hope it's the last. And I hope they have a quick, easy fix for it too.

Didn't notice anything on the homepage about gifts. Though i may have skipped over it assuming it was about the cx-2 which was a xmas gift?
Have been on the forums every other day, but not GD.
Only messages i saw on the login pages were about the numerous patches and extending downtime.
Didn't notice anything in the character select page.
No e-mails

Missed my gift, but i may have gotten a remap by default. I don;t really know as i don;t use them often.

Oh well. there;s always next year

Same story here... I was expecting a little gift icon with all the choices and I never saw it. I was not aware that I had to log into the Account Management page to select a gift. The devblog said "Account Management Queue" which seems rather vague to me, if it had said "holiday gift page in the Account Management site" I would have understood.

And apparently I never got the Eve Newsletter vol 70 that made it much more clear. Considering vol 69 came on Nov 30, it may show up in a week from now, which is too late... Sad

Oh well... guess I missed it. But please CCP, try to communicate better in the future, or at least send me the newsletters on time.

There were multiple ads/banners when logging in for a few days in a row that informed players of the gift. I don't think they need to work on their communication as much as people need to open their friggin eyes.

Fortunately CCP are not like the scrooges in this thread who want to deny everyone else the same gifts that they freely received.
My petition worked and they gave me a 2nd chance to redeem my holiday gift.

Thank you again CCP for your decency.

I'm disappointed to have missed this. I've been on EVE every day this month and I never saw anything telling me to redeem these things, I did not get Newsletter 70, and I thought all we were getting were the implants.

Oh well.

I stopped dealing with internet forum mentality Years ago... You run into herds of Forum-Troll-Jockeys looking to stampede people.

In the time they spend running their yapps here... they could be having fun in the Game.

So I missed my gift, and don't care. This is just standard CCP trolling and being an ass. This is like what, the first gift aculy worth a damn? (well may be the Primae IF you were starting an industry toon one it droped) so I was not surprised one it was some convoluted system instead of the shure fire way they did gifts in the past. I hope next year its a Plex that they tell us to register for on June 13th between 05:05 and 05:20 eve time.

I wanted to paint my space ship red, but I couldn't find enough goats.
