Super crazy yield, range and cycle time while in in industrial mode. only able to do so in null sec. Rorqual fixed?

Sense this thread makes not.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Fixed unless off grid boosting is nerfed. After boosting off grid is taken away the rorq becomes a giant multi billion isk paperweight.

The Mantini meta show had a great idea when talking with Progodlegend for the Roq. Make it a super belt huffer that operates in a siege mode.

I’d like to offer my 2 isk on top of that idea.

The Roq seems like a deployable partly with a transforming aspect. With all the technology in the eve universe, why not make this capital a ship that lands in belt, and converts to a short range gate ship that will tractor beam in a mining belt really quickly and move the belt, via warp toss like system gates?

I would image the receiving mechanic would need to be anchored by a beacon or special harvest collector array or structure, similar to the moon harvester or a related device.

The risk:

The Roq in gate-siege mode would show up on system grid for all to see like a gate and warp to, due to the communications link to the remotely located beacon, which also shows up on system grid, as well. This makes it balanced and sensible for wormhole systems as well as k-space use. The total yield of a belt can be diminished by a percentage, related to skill level for using the system. The explosive mercoxit ore can explode at a higher percentage chance, and can cause increased loss of total mineral yield for the process. The pilot running the rock will have to pilot the gate-seiged Roq targeting asteroids in a similar process as a salvage ship gathers wrecks on a field after a large combat battle.

The reward:

The roq should be able to quickly eat a belt in a short amount of time; it would depend on belt mass VS skill in operation of the Gate support module.

Rorq should NOT mine asteroids, if it does then all you are doing is powercreeping mining. There is only so much demand for ore, a demand that is going to shrink heavily with fozziesov as there is no reason to build capitals anymore, and making something mine even faster than it does currently is going to further kill the ore market.

Lets say they DO make the rorqual a super miner in siege.

Noone near lowsec including regions like providence, delve, curse, or geminate can use them, because you get hotdropped in a 5 minute siege cycle and bam, there goes your 3.5bil miner.

second, those of us in deep null who can mine SOMEWHAT safely in them now pull in WAY more ore, kill the price of ore, and everyone in low, high, and bordernull is now much worse off than before.

With rorqs no longer able to boost in pos shields with the upcoming pos changes, they need to make the ship able to boost effectively in the belt, where it isn't at enormous risk like it is now.
