Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but it seems all I hear these days from mission runners is nonstop crying because of mission baiters. And since they mostly come here to complain, it is posted here instead of mission running. If this is the wrong place then please feel free to move it!

So where do I find all these non-stop cries and complaints ?

Not so much a problem as a minor annoyance or amusing distraction. But I forgive them as they often have cute ship names like "Little Thief". Sometimes I feel a pang of sympathy and set all my remaining wrecks to blue before I fly off.

After a bit they realize they have been owned and go away shamefaced and in tears.

Theres a joke here about Veers winning by rolling over and taking it.. I just know it.

I was under the impression that the joke here is Veers....

I can confirm that setting all wrecks to blue as an act of sympathy is the primal cause in the loss of hair. Smile

Just mission PVP fit.

The Vexor, Vexor Navy, Ishtar, Dominix and Gila can all do it well.

As an occasional baiter, mission baiting is more fun when you don't always win.

That's what I call a false dichotomy.

Joffy Aulx-Gao for CSM. Fix links and OGB. Ban stabs from plexes. Fulfill karmic justice.

Well, no fit is going to stand up to a guy with 3-4 alts packing logi and an orca for reshipping.

I tend to just watch what I am shooting. If there is a mission item I rush in to collect as I shoot it. If someone turns up and starts ninja salvaging my wrecks I simply shoot the wrecks. Just read eve survival to know roughly when the item will drop and from what ship.

Wrong, The best form of retaliation is to burn them down, Guaranteed if you kill the mission baiter they won't bother you again, This is why I have a rack of Medium neuts in my cargo Whenever I take the rattlesnake out mission running, aswell as a Web and Scram

Sometimes a good holler in local, or the trusty batphone is an easy counter to that.
Repping a suspect makes the logi go suspect. A third party can drop in and wax that logi without the main character being able to do ANYTHING to them. Nothing but a limited engagement tween the two, and the logi is still suspect. The logi can make the difference in the fight, yes, but bringing them into play also creates new dynamic situations that can backfire on the user.
Plus, a mini armada like that is a bit over the top. I can see a link alt and a logi guy, but if there's an orca involved it's most likely going to be off grid. Ultimately what you're talking about is a whole lot of effort to put into something that only has about a 1 in 8 or 10 chance of happening anyways.

I'm not saying that it can't happen, just saying that it's an extreme example as most flippers I know of tend to use an alt as a scanner/off grid booster and flip with the character they use for that task.

Really, if he's baiting you over and over with the same ship, you should just midly refit for him. So if he uses an exceptionally small ship, you can run the mission with a ship with a utility high and a heavy neut in there. Or if he's in something cruiserish, use a Domi or Rattlesnake and fit webs/paints. Literally every ship with fitted modules runs L4s np. Just there are people throwing themselves at you, stop complaining and kill them!

This works. I've been 'seal clubbed' by a mission runner before who saw me drop in on him.. he warps off and returns in a modified version of his mission ship... this time fitted for some pvp action, and summarily stomped the brown stuff out of my assault frigate.
Was I mad? Hell no. I got a fight that morning, and he got an ishkur kill and a tidy chunk of my bounty. We both won in a way.
I like to think of myself as a bonus burner mission. No LP, but the bounty payoff is great and the loot doesn't suck. What other mission ships are gonna drop T2 modules and faction/T2 ammo for you?
Oh, and strippers and drugs. Plus the occasional janitor.
I don't fly with my Fedo because I know that Tora would stalk me all Elmer Fudd like, and that's just creepy.
Plus, I have a hard time getting it out from under my bunk. I swear, one drunken mishap and the thing's scarred for life.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

IDK who baits missions with 3-4 logi alts.

Guy uses 4 toons and can run 4 spider domis or a swap orca and multiple logi. I doubt it's terribly common but I also doubt he's the only one.

Been meaning to fit a pvp variant of my mission hull. Same name and all. And I use a proteus currently so...
