How to stop being a carebear but still do PvE

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but it seems all I hear these days from mission runners is nonstop crying because of mission baiters. And since they mostly come here to complain, it is posted here instead of mission running. If this is the wrong place then please feel free to move it!

Problem:
1. Accept Mission
2. Warp to Mission
3. Shoot red crosses
4. Teeny tiny little ship warps in
5. Salvages your wrecks
6. Steals mission loot
7. You start to nerdrage
8. You are taunted
9. Moar nerdrage and you shoot at him
10. He kills you and you die a little inside
11, Tear of rage which is harvested and stored in cheap little bottles
12. You rage, threaten to quit, sodomize their pet spider, file ingame pettion and put on space lawyer suit and preach about bullying.

Solution:
1. Get second account
2. Steal Ganking Catalyst fit from someone in CODE
3. Move Catalyst to system your mission is in.
4. Gank the teeny tiny little ship with your catalyst
5. harvest your own tears of joy and pride
6. Bask in the approval of your parents, peers and for good measure throw in a fistpump.
7. Finish mission
8. Earn your ISK

Haha. XD I like that.

Regardless If SP Isn't plentiful on your alt. A RLML Caracle can easily kill an AF provided the mission ship has a point and web to hold it. The uh teeny tiny ship will go suspect when he takes your loot so a gank fit catty wouldn't be optimal.

That or some thing that can tackle down with dual webs and a scram. Any cruiser would do. I dunno how often Mission looters check d-scan so you might be able to. The only problem you would have is if you have to go through gates and such So the teeny tiny ship would have time to warp away if the Mission ship doesn't have a point.

Although just seeing that backup is on it's way might cause him to bail.

Those bottles are NOT cheap.
Price scales dependent upon volume necessary to store.
The 50 gal drums are frighteningly expensive.

Also gonna go with the no on the catalyst. You're gonna want something that has a bit better range for it's damage application just due to jump gate distances and whatnot, well assuming you want the quick rescue. Often times during the dance the pair will wander a goodly distance from the in-gate, so the backup tends to land a distance away.
I've had catalysts try to save the princess before and it tends to end with them warping off with their arse on fire due to a face full of drones, or the sudden realization that they aren't the only ones using small blasters.

Have a Mobile Depot, alternate PVP modules in cargo hold. Refit and kill the little pest.

Especially useful for static PVE ships I guess, like drone ships (sentries), since you can anchor the Mobile Depot as you start farming the red crosses.

I could be terribly wrong, never did this myself, or encounter someone who did to counter me...

Edit: one or two medium Energy Neutralisers do marvel against frigates, again especially usefull on ships with extra High slots.

Also... a functioning Batphone is awesome.
I've had a couple of occasions in the past where it turned out the mission bear actually had friends nearby.
Their arrival changed the outcome from a doomed mission ship to 'oooh look at the pretty colors!' as my little frig went up in flames.
You don't need the special forces, sometimes a newbro who's willing to lend a hand can tip the scales in your favor.

Make friends in system and fleet up to defend each other. Friends are more fun than alts.

I prefer the following:

1. Train into a Gila
2. Pvp fit the gila.
3. Run missions.
4. Kill the mission baiter.

Better yet, have some fun with the mission baiter. Open a convo , pretend to be furious, give them ultimatums to leave now or else, at the last minute pretend to take mercy on them and offer to reach a peaceful solution, and just continue running the mission and not shooting at them. After a bit they realize they have been owned and go away shamefaced and in tears.

Just fail the mission and move on. Any decent mission runner has mega positive standings already. And remember, a mission griefer who isn't getting kills, is soon no longer to be a mission griefer.

Actually we usually have a little mental timer going on. If no results occur by the time it goes ding we just move on to someone else. If a system seems dry we'll move on to another. I don't know about others but I tend to keep setups in many different systems at the same time just in case the fish aren't biting in a particular hole.

Also, it's not just about the kills Veers, it's about the fights. Some of my very favorites I have lost. So, no, we're not just gonna quit so long as humans do human things.

Sadly this will alienate most mission runners. Making friends involves being social.

Theres a joke here about Veers winning by rolling over and taking it.. I just know it.

Ya, but the implication is that if all the mission runners refuse to shoot at you, you will get bored and find something else to do.

Ah yes I learned this the hard way. Not even concerned with the missiles...WHO KNEW that medium drones with no hull tracking bonus can apply nearly full damage to an AB fit armor AF? I didn't know, but I do now.

Of course the problem is that no matter how well you're able to counter a single intruder, there's not much to be done when two logi alts land on grid with you. Sad that people have to play that way as it actually makes fights happen less.

Errr, what? So, you want to say that people shoot suspect, then whine about suspect shooting back?
Seriously, I used this to create some sort of dead space back in the days, just looting wrecks on a-bit-alternate venture fit, getting engagement, then shooting their drones, forcing them to disengage. Hell, I could actually get myself some blood on the page. If only I'd fit a scrambler. Stupid carebear mentality forfeited that.

Oh, well, back to MWO.

Carebear is a mindset. How to PvE without being one? Play with the correct attitude.
