You didn't need to say you were in a wormhole, I saw that you were in a wormhole. You said you didn't make an aggressive move, but you did by entering the wormhole and invading his territory. Just because you were not moving is irrelevant.

Why is it not possible to enjoy the game? You haven't given a reason besides someone shooting your spaceship in a game about shooting spaceships.

PvP in the EvE sense covers a broader spectrum than games with rigid boundaries/matching systems. Which it should in an open world sandbox. Evading a gatecamp, dodging gankers or depriving people of kills is also a form of PvP imo. You just dodged the baddies because you fit your ship properly, know how to get past/avoid them and used your brain. If you die and lose something you can afford - and take it in good fun - it's content.

If a ship is killable, we shoot it. To see the effects, pad our killboards, get lewt, or just because we're bored etc. It's nothing personal, and it's not always clear when you're shooting a new player.

It's not disappointment, it's ignorance. You need to discard your preconceptions about how you think games should work and try this one how it is.

Most vets have had a minor tantrum at some point over a shiploss or a mechanic they didn't understand btw.

Yes and I'm absolutely correct.

To PvP one must be able to counter. When there is absolutely no counter because you're melting someones ship in less time than it takes for a player to activate a module or take an action then the player becomes irrelevant.

The only thing you're fighting is the servers representation of an asset attached to a player. The player may as well not be there. Most PvP games go to great lengths to avoid this because its not a lot of fun or at all interesting, not PvP.

You could make a case that everything is pvp but I'm talking about combat not mining, which is what we're talking about, mining ships with weapons, simply a variation of mining roids with mining lasers.
