You got scammed.

CCP are unlikely to intervene as scamming is allowed in Eve.

Scams

A scam is what happens when someone takes advantage of your misplaced trust, temporary confusion or ignorance of game rules, and robs you via legal in-game means. When this occurs, there is nothing the Support Team can do for you. Although low and despicable, scams do not violate any game mechanics and can not be compensated for by the GMs, nor can the scammers generally be punished for their actions.

If you're going to buy a super in future use a reputable 3rd party such as Chribba to offset your risk.

TL;DR Being gullible in Eve can be expensive.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

He may be under the impression that CCP enforces the no scam rule in Sell Orders.

Which I believe it is not. You can be scammed from Sell orders? I think the Character Bazaar is the only place where you can not scam.

The only place in Eve that scamming is forbidden is the character bazaar, which means that in probability you'll be quitting.

Never sure why some people always think scamming in a make believe game on the internet (Eula abiding), is against the rules?

Ultimately when people are presented with the opportunity to read the Eula before they tick the box and start playing (most don't of course), they really should.take the time to comprehend the agreement they enter into with CCP.

Anybody who seeks to argue that scamming is morally wrong in this game it could be suggested need to power down the computers, take a walk in the park and get some fresh air.

Ultimately, blowing things up or killing things in the real world under most common principles is considered "wrong".

Given this, any arguement that one might ever make that "scamming" is wrong in this game, but "violence" is okay i.e "blowing up ships" etc etc (if taken in the context of rl morality) - that arguement is logically flawed and might suggest an inability to differentiate concrete aspects of fantasy from reality.

Nobody likes losing things in Eve. Ships, isk, whatever. Doing due diligence is advisable though. Not all the foreign princes who promise to share the royal vault wealth once they have used the funds requested to retake the throne will keep their word.

If you were genuinely scammed then sorry for your loss.

In some regards one might argue that certain learning experiences in this game can augment your resistance profile to the same happening outwith it. If that ever proves to be the case then the experience here will have been a positive thing, even if in the interim, it seems like a blow to the ribs.

What is that 3 line japanese poetry called? His reply that I quoted oddly reminds me of that.

Sir, you are a poet, and even though I have no idea what you said, I feel touched in an odd and deeply personal (and possibly innapropriate) way.

If you have the resources to buy and the skills to use a nyx, how can you not know the nature of Eve and see this obvious scam?

Just let it go and be happy it wasnt real money.
