POS array ideas

I'm a huge fan of POS', but think they really need some work and updating. Here's a few things I'd like to see done to the POS and arrays.

1. Augmented POS guns: Give faction or a possible future POS gun a strontium bay and while under control of a gunner it can go into a sort of siege mode. Increased damage, tracking and so forth

2. Drone/Fighter Hangars: Hangar Bays that can launch drones to support a POS under attack, or simply patrol around the outside of it ( decloak spies, etc...). Fighters that can be launched and added to a fleet like a pilot... i.e. fill a pilot slot in fleet and follow commands given by the squad leader.

3. POS Powerplants/ Data Centers: An array that would convert power grid to CPU and vice versa.

4. Point Defense: A setting (or array) on small POS gun that do nothing but shoot any missles (and drones..?).

5. Augmented Scanning: An array for the POS that gives a bonus to an owning corps ships scan strength and speed.

What exactly would seige mode do for a gun? What would be the downside?

Upside would be increased damage, tracking, etc... Much like a Dread going into siege.

Downside, other than only being possible thru a gunners use could be higher ammo usage rate/ destruction of ammo bay contents.

Also could be direct damage to the gun array itself, much like overloading a module. Gun would be used in this mode, then after use could have damage as well as a cool off period of X minutes.
