Looking for Wh Sleeper ship advice

Hello, I have a blast scanning and going into wh space. I have been practicing in high sec. My favorite thing to do is take on sleepers, but I am kinda lost.

I have lost two Vexors to Sleepers. I fitted out a pretty "ok" armor tank setup with stable cap and even resists. I know about them targeting drones and did my best with ECM jammer to get aggro and such. My Vex(s) was mostly high meta T1 sorry to say..

tldr: looking for recommendations on a ship to take out sleepers with low sp. I just find it fun and i don't care if it takes a long time to start out making isk. Thanks for any help

I dont use galente ships to begin with, but I would start with a battle cruiser, likely a myrm dual repper with auto cannons... and drones.

Like Capital T said + keep in mind that Sleepers have a more advanced AI over the normal K-space rats. To pulling aggro on them doesn't work there, Sleepers actually switch aggro. So even if you started with full aggro and then launch your drones, sleepers will switch aggro to the drones once in a while.

Cruisers are generally to weak to take on sleepers with, and using drones is a bad idea as sleepers will primary them and they will get destroyed, I would recommend using a battlecruiser, but don't be too reliant on drones, and remember to spam D-Scan to look out for ships and scanner probes.

I do C3s in a sentry Domi regularly. The trick to using drones is to keep them close, keep an eye on them (scoop them when they start taking fire), and fit a remote rep for the on-the-fly repairs (which will save a lot of drones).

That said you really need a BC, even for C1s. I've done a lot of C1/C2 sites in a dual-rep pvp-fit Myrmidon; the AI for the basic-type sleepers isn't as good as the intermediate sleepers you see in C3s and they don't target switch nearly as much. But you still need to keep a close eye on your drones, especially if you send scout drones after distant targets.

I've heard that sleepers don't gobble up sentry drones as quickly as normal ones.

And the Myrmidon is pretty ideal for doing C1s. 2 of them can do C2s and the basic anoms in C3s with little trouble.

One thing that's kind of fun is putting remote repair mods on your 2 BCs. Since sleepers usually primary one guy, the other guy takes over the repairing. This cuts down on getting neuted out.

I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs.

I would advise against drones at all, they are kind of a deadend for your current "thing". Sure you can more or less make them work as others pointed out, but no matter how much you hone your skills it will always be suboptimal.

I generally point new players toward the drake for low SP WH work, it really is a very forgiving ship and you will be hardpressed to find yourself in a situation it can't handle if your careful.

As several posts have already stated you really need a BC or higher for WH sleepers, they neut, they eat drones and from C3 and up they scram.

The drake really is the king of solo pve work in the wh, even with low skills it can do c1 wh pretty easily, c2's require a bit more skill or warping out when you mismanage the aggro and c3's are also doable (but very slow) in a solo drake with excellent skills (although for c3-c4 work I prefer a rr-tengu gang, it just goes faster, and time is money)

I understand you might be gallente only so I would highly recommend a dual-rep myrm (check battleclinic for decent fits, even cheap ones) or an Ishtar which will be a bit more resilient than your vexor (but also pricey) The sentry domi would be my last choice but can work with good skills and aggro management, just keep in mind the domi sig radius is almost 4 times bigger than the ishtar and 30% more than a myrm so those BS sized torps from the sleepers are really gonna hurt. With the recent hybrid changes it might not hurt to look into the brutix but I'm fairly certain you'll need blasters and a AB fit to be effective up close.

Eve-survival has all the info on the anomolies and the triggers in each wave... use it... or ignore it at your peril

and like others mentioned spam d-scan often... (really often) a solo hunter in an anomaly is just waiting to end up on someone's killboard...

I can confirm that a dual-rep Myrm with projectiles can handle a C1 or C2.

I don't know but after the patch maybe hybrids are viable...
