I am getting a little bored with the current ships i fly and want to try new weapons systems, I mainly fly missile based ships because i like the range options that come with them. i have at my disposal Tengu, Drake, Golem, Raven all of these have served me well and paid for themselves via missions and complex's. i recently moved into drone ships while i was skilling up drones and got myself a rattlesnake and then a gila, i enjoy the gila very much and the use of drones as a primary weapon. Now i am concentrating on gunnery skills and would like some help to choose a ship that would be suitable for L4 missions and plex's while fitted with a gunnery weapon. What would be the best kind of weapon to skill for? and which ship to fit the weapon too?

Kinda depends a bit on who u run missions for.

Projectiles are nice and have rotating dmg types. They don't deal kinetic very well though.
Mach is a good choice and can do 800s and 1400s well, but its a blitzed so 800s are the way to go so you have fitting for warpspeed rigs.
Vargur is a nice option, terrible with arty cause of overkill, 800s are the option....

Paladin is really good... Against BR/Sansha. So if doing missions for gallente / minmatar there are better options.

I wouldn't recommend hybrids unless you need the kinetic dmg. Kronos gets decent range with null, but it won't omnitank as well as the pally/vargur.

Machariel is good at generating LP.
(Polarized) Nightmare is good at collecting NPC bounties.

Sleipnir is terrible at both, but looks damn good while being useless.

The problem isn't the ship. It is the activity.

Looking for a new ship, there are dozens. Anything. Everything.

You are doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...

... Again.

A new ship won't make it fresh and exciting.

Pick a new activity.

You have probably hit the nail on the head, however i will be the first to admit i cannot pvp to save my life. I like missions my problem is i have probably done all of them. I do missions for any old corp i kind of like trying to keep all factions in a positive state. Thanks for the replies.

Instead of doing the heavy hitting stuff.....go light and get you a stealthy frig and go do some exploration. Do some scanning and hack the sites you find. The bigger the risk, the better reward....with patience that is. That would be a whole new world to you if youve never tried it yet.

Destiny always seems decades away, but suddenly it's not decades away; it's right now. But maybe destiny is always right now, right here, right this very instant, maybe.

I've done Lvl 4 with a Naga before, it's Hair raising at times. And it's not as time efficient But it certainly fun.


Basically you run around with your tail tucked between your legs taking pot shots. But it's most excitement I've gotten from missions, not including burner missions.

No seriously, I'm thinking of using one - tell me what's wrong with it so I don't waste my time/ISK.

Nothing wrong with it, just its DPS and Range is too low for Lvl 4 missions. Its not a PVE ship after all.
