Gila: still droneboat

Tried to play with fittings for PVE... Got no success to mix missiles and drones somehow. Maybe it is just my skills but using 4 DDA in lows + drones gives more DPS than other DDA/BCS combinations with heavy missile launchers T2.

I have Rattlesnake i haven't touched since 'change' from pure droneboat. Training cruise missiles now to play with it somehow. I've heard it can be a beast combining drones and missiles. Gila on the other hand has too little slots....

So the question: is it possible to make Gila mainly missile boat for PVE? PVE = lvl54 in high-sec for this question.

There's lvl5's in Highsec? (Im ignorant to most of PVE)

However I would say the GIla is still a Solid Droneship.

If by level 5 you mean level 4 missions, maybe. Why would you want to make it a missile focused ship when it has such a strong role bonus to drones?

No lvl 5's in high as far as i am aware.
Gila is a drone boat and a good one at that, if your going to make it a missile boat you may aswell buy a drake

FYI... level 5 missions are low-sec only.

As for the Gila... it is more efficient to use missiles more as supplimental / point defense damage. If you want more "split damage" between drones and missiles then you want to fit Heavy Assault Missiles and Ballistic Controls.

600 dps with augumented hammers, main dps is still the drones and they have pretty huge ehp and that's with two dda's with four ddas augumented hammers can do 743 dps. About total of 950 dps is doable with t2 rapid lights + med drones. You can do L4's just fine in gila , and up to C3 wormhole sites.

Gila is most efficient as a drone boat as noted.

For me it is strange to have bonuses of the ship and not use it.... That's why the question in topic. Being generally drone mast0r i use missiles just because they add like 150DPS of damage. Not too much but worth some million ISK for fitting and ammo...

No such thing a bad DPS. Unless it is hitting you.

used to lvl 5 agents in low would give you a mission in high. after like 2 years CCP considered that an exploit and moved out lvl 5 mission spawns out of empire, where they can be pirate havens and such,

Drone Boat. The HP and Damage bonus is ridiculous.


On a Rattler for example: Cal Navy Drones have a higher Passive Tank than a T2 Purged drake while having the signature the size of my brain.

Edit: so pretty tiny.

C5s in certain situations,

The Gila is on par with the Ishtar for lvl 4 missions. Missiles are supplemental DPS only. I only use rapid lights, most fo the time Im firing auto-target missiles.
