So what do we have so far in this new game they call EVE-ONGRIND.

No winter megawar, gj onthe jump fatique. My first winter in years that I am actually bored to death.
Supers.......well lets not mention those. GL pilots who have trained there ballz off and grinded like a mtf, gl taking it up the ass....dry
Sov, going to be more a a pain.
Titan's where killed a long time ago so aint gonna mention them.
Oh yeah......I forgot the fights that do occur.....40 jumps to the fight and 40 back.......really really awesome and not a complete wast off time and fun at all.

Wonder how long it's going to take CCP before they actually start doing things to the game that will "improve" the game instead off twisting it's neck off even further.
I feel bad for all the oldtimers in this game, after years and years off sticking to the program.
We are all getting a major **** in our asses.

But maybe thats just me and i am beeing really negative.

BR marked the end of "REAL WARS", N3, Goons, PL won eve and decided to largely avoid each other and mess with everyone else. This lead to null becoming a "blue donut" with people crying to the devs to give them something to do.

Supers/Titans were the biggest factor in stagnation, as a newer entity could not exist in null with out the permission of the big two for fears of getting run over by supers. CCP saw that the bastardization of null needed to end

Defacto not only the super accounts, but their support accounts as well. Imagine a supercarrier or titan like an Abrams tank. To keep a single Abrams operational and ready for battle it requires some ~50 people supporting. Obviously not as extreme for a lousy digital supercapital, but the concept is the same. You won't have a need for logistics toons to provide fuel/stront/etc, no more cyno alts, no more scouts, no more wormhole/ratting/incursion/mission -alts to make isk for those big babies and their blingy modules (eh, how much would you want to bling up your Ishtar anyway)

You may see a chain reaction... if it was up to me, I'd rather give supers a new and strategically important purpose, much like every other ship has one. Let them excel in their field just as other category ships do.

Anyway, I'm not too worried about it, nerf or buff either way - it may be a sign from Bob that it's time to spend the next decade doing something else :D

LOL non-super pilots are gonna unsub too because supers got nerfed Roll

Look N3/goons/etc just leave your space after Sov 2.0, theres plenty of former sov holders, bitter enemies, and adventurers just waiting for the chance to get their piece of the null pie.Pirate

Life imitates art:

Supers and Titans were designed during a previous incarnation of CCP. I find it hard to believe things would have turned out any other way. As we have seen in real life with only 2 real military powers existing we also see in EVE the eventual emergence of 2 significant powers.

Yes, 2013/14 the large blocs 'won eve' and this much was admitted by greyscale during the o7 show.

Personally I think nothing will really change. Maybe everything will change but fundamentally no it wont. There are no Josep Tito's left in EVE. There is an indoctrinated theory amongst 3rd parties that you are either one side, the other, or irrelevant. I rejoined CFC after 2 years of being out of it and suddenly *I am a traitor* to the whole game and get scorned by people and kicked from public channels. It would almost be funny if it wasn't so sad. It shows a massive disconnect between reality and ideology to treat the situation and changes of circumstances like this.

This is good new for all the noobs and those who cannot fly them! However, EVE to me and many others has been about trying to obtain the best, the rare, ..... so now what? What is there? What happens when all the "new players" want something big and shiny to fly? SOL??
CCP, I have played since 2004, I have been ok with almost every change until recently. You are pushing out the old players, and odds are, they account for most of your income. This is the only change in which I am giving serious thoughts to quitting EVE, not a break, like I have taken a few times, but quitting. I have loved EVE for over 10 years! It has been an awesome game! I understand the need for change, but this is not just change, I hope ccp can see that. That said, I'll try it, hell I haven't used my super in almost a year.... wont miss it. But I think this will be a bad choice by CCP, IMO its first BIG one.

What value is it to you if you didn't earn it yourself? You want a slice, nut up and take it, rather than begging for a handout.

I can see how we got here - we all want space-Dragons, be it to strive to claim our own, or go out in the wilderness and hunt and kill ourselves one (lets be fair, that first titan killmail is so thrilling it takes an effort of will not to frame it!). Just the mechanics don't fulfill that dream.

It's not just that - they fail to create any scenario that would be compelling enough for current rental alliances and combat groups to cecede(?) From their coalitions in order to hold their own slice of pie.

I could think of a couple of reasons but I'm not inclined to give it away.

I don't often speak up in defense of topics out of my area of playstyle, but turning super carriers into toothless stat-sticks isn't the way to go.

Sitting here on my armchair developer throne, I'd rather see supers become a multi-pilot ship with offensive capabilities tied to other friendly pilots being "docked" inside the super manning glorified POS guns or commanding drone flights, totally independent of the "captain" flying it.

Can you multibox it? Yes. But it's no more abusable than multi-boxing anything else in the game.

I think they should be more closely aligned with RL carriers. If you look at a US Navy carrier or supercarrier, it is a mobile base that can transport about 200 fighter craft anywhere in the world.

An EVE Online supercarrier should have an super-sized fleet hanger (FLEET HANGER DUH) kinda like a bowhead that you could fit 250 fitted and rigged ships into.

These mobile platforms would go into battle escorted by a fleet, these fleet members could then reship off the supercarrier (once) as they die in battle.

You know, I actually feel bad for the pilots that trained for supers.

Yes, I have been the person in the camp of "nerf the supers!". Not as something I've started threads over, but something I've generally agreed with when other people talked about it. But, it was always just a fun rallying cry like a high school pep rally. Never had I imagined anything like this.

Super pilots do have my sympathies. No sarcasm there. Having the rug pulled out from under you in such a dramatic fashion is just, well, disheartening.

But I also can see it might be better for the larger game. People have already pointed it out, so I don't really think I need to go over it again. But CCP long ago painted themselves into a corner by putting in this massive apex ships/force multipliers without having a good way of fitting them into the existing meta (way back when they were first introduced). They made them too powerful, no amount of ISK or train time really stopped anyone from acquiring them, especially in large numbers, then it became a clusterfluke.

This is what happens when you introduce content without a good long-term plan for it fitting into the game. It became the elephant in the room in this game for far too long, then people invested heavily in them, and then you're at a point where you're upsetting people no matter what you do. This move is probably healthier for the long-term interests of the game, but the people in those ships have every right to be upset. I know I've been mildly upset every time I trained into something and it got nerfed (I had a really bad run of luck for a while).

Morale of the story is: have a plan for your content and make damned sure it fits in the game. If not, adjust it quickly and sooner rather than later.
