Seriously though.. those who don't vote have no right to complain.

Subscribers who don't vote in the CSM have no right to complain? Pffft.

yup because technically you pay only to be able to log-in and use their servers.

Sounds like a plan. Will keep that in mind for minutes and summits, as well. We ran ads in most of our banner space over the course of the election. Maybe we need to run them more often. Thanks!

Alright alright you convinced me. But I want a favour in return... It involves cheap plane tickets to Iceland and a ticket to fanfest. Also hookers. But not the cheap kind, I've gone down that road before... *shudders*

  • Paid for a full year subscription with real money and not PLEX.
  • Read all the candidate threads.
  • Listed to all the candidate podcasts.
  • Dug into candidates posts and other related things to EVE.
  • Compiled a list of who I feel is best to represent the entire EVE community.
  • Went to vote.
  • Was told I don't qualify because I was not 60 days or older.
  • ****!

Just missed:

  • Read the rules of the CSM election

Look on the bright side. At least when it comes to next year, this year's process will come in handy.

Well... I think there is something bad with voting numbers this time isn't it? Else we would not have such thread? Cool

As per the norm the Null Bloc Votes will virtually always dominate the election, this in turn produces apathy with the empire dwellers.

There are way too many candidates for the average casual player to even bother trying to research every candidate never mind trying to pick 14 out of 77 and decide in which order to put them.

Personally I believe in voting for the candidates that have played longer as they have more dedication to the game, all of my voting this year had quite a few of the goon list on it, mainly as I believe with all the changes that are in the pipeline for sov mechanics etc.

The Majority of Null candidates (or those backed by large bloc voting) will inevitably gain a seat on the CSM so a vast majority will not bother to vote as they see their vote making no differance to the outcome.

I bothered this year as I have the time and used a few tools available to decide for myself, even then I didn't bother with the full 14 slots.

To the majority the CSM is just free stuff for the members and an inside link to what is in the pipeline for various blocs, regardless of what is said some things will be hinted at or leaked to friends/leaders, this has been mentioned in a recent show.

Empire dwelllers will inevitably not bother as they see the CSM as a null bloc tool and not something that may affect their casual gameplay.

I cannot in all honesty see anything CCP does to change this view, free stuff included.

Older players will vote along with those told to, the remainder will not care enough to bother.

P.S. The views of this account does not neccesarily reflect the views of the rest of me EvilBear

and now for some more of the same from the Constructive Feedback Consortium.

Here's the sad thing.

If the "highsec carebears" actually decided to all vote, the nullbloc would be decimated.

The difference is in notification from the null leadership and communications (ingame evemails, out of game networking, coms, etc).

You don't get that from CCP (because apparently when CCP sends a eve-mail saying vote, its "breaking immersion", but when your CEO says Vote, its perfectly fine).

CCP, Evemail the populous about the o7 show, say you'll be giving away BPC of ship colors or something, self advertise the CSM, give away the stuff during the CSM spheel, open voting Right Then and There.

Honestly you do do enough advertising for the CSM. More is always welcome though.

Yaay!!!!

Well, here's the thing... I vote religiously in real life. I don't think I've ever missed one single vote since I turned 18.

This, however, is a game. And I just do not want to be bothered with political conniving and a voting apparatus in a game.

Also, if you want players' real opinions about the game, possible changes etc, I am pretty sure the CSMs are not the way to get those. I've yet to see even ONE who is in line with even 50% of my general opinions on things, for one.

I went into my Captains Quarters to look for those campaining to come on the big Neo-Cam and talk about their campain...I did not see any.

So there I was sitting on the couch, scratching my head and wondering why no one cares enough to be seen there.....Who will represent the miners? Clearly no one running this year is qualified....

I can not vote with confidence unless i am able to have access to their campaigns in this manner. No votes from me this year.

Actually, I'm just a big fan of the CSM. Leeloo has been posting updates on the voting, and it looks like it's going well. This post is just my yearly foray into posting on the EVE boards.

This, seriously. If you're going to bribe people to vote, make sure they vote before doling out the goods. I, for one, re-subbed after the Feb 25th deadline, and now I have no limited-shuttle-BPC incentive to vote. Sad

Bleep-it. Looks like I owe Someone(tm) an apology (and/or someone needs to word their dev blogs a tad better.)

CSM 10 dev blog: "Every active account in EVE will be able to claim this, providing that it is active on the day that voting starts, which is February 25th."

    I re-subbed on the 27th.

I look in my redeem items queue, and I have a Council Diplomatic Shuttle Blueprint. Not sure if was there before or after I voted, though.

Perhaps if you create an easy and simple interface/webpage with 3 points that each person defends and 3 points they are against, and have like 30 people IN the same page with ALL the points so we can just scroll through the page with my mouse wheel, read the 3 points they defend and 3 points they are against and click that person or not selecting them and on the bottom of the page have a button with submit, and its done voting??

Maybe just maybe its YOUR fault for people not voting? Make your system easier and simpler.

Whoa there, sexy. I wasn't blaming anyone for anything. :)

That aside, thank you to everyone who voted. Good luck!
