EVE Music is addictive.

I know it'll only ever be a small thing in the to-do list of EVE Devs and there will be many cries of "EVE has sound?", but can we get some more of that addictive music?

Just signed up again after a break, first thing I noticed was the tunes.
Missed them.

Cog psychs can bring your conspiracy theories for our enjoyment.

We've had a ship building contest that (...........eventually...) resulted in some interesting new stuff.
Would that be a way to bypass the ennui of the creative talent in CCP? (just jokes, those nebulae look like they took many person years!)

Agreed - I'd love for the music to get a bit of a revamp. It's good as it is but some remixes etc would be awesome.

OP, I take it you've listened to Alienhand?

I have a specific comb for my beard.

Why would you assume that? Blink

After a quick preview, their stuff sounds similar.
Many of them seem to be a re-imagining/remaking/re-sampling of existing EVE music, but there's some new ideas there.

More voice is good, not advocating words necessarily, but "The Great Gig in the Sky" is an example of a voice without words.
Keeping words to a minimum keeps EVE universal.

I'm working atm and listening to EVE music in the office. :) (no one plays EVE in here and they enjoy the sound, some even requested all music tracks to listen at home)

Anyway, i think its time for CCP to introduce more tunes, 8 years of the same music its too much.. I still enjoy it but CCP got a bit lazy, EVE music is a part of the great environment and without it i'm sure that the first experience in the game would not have been the same.

I love the EVE music, but I've heard the same tracks so many times I can tell which one comes after which. I had to start playing other music because I burned out the jukebox.

Found the music to Off-World Resource Base (O.R.B.) and I made a playlist of that instead. That game had the epitome of creepy deep-space music imho. Perfect for mining. Smile

When I'm not listening to that I play the Blade Runner soundtrack.

+1 to more tunes from RealX. Cool

The jukebox has a really cool feature called "shuffle"...it's awesome.

Joking aside, I would LOVE to see new tracks added to the box. I too am a big fan of Eve's music and hope we see more of it.

Agreed! I stumbled across Alienhand in my early days of Eve and I've made sure to download all of his tracks for keeps; you can add them to the Jukebox and play them when you start getting too familiar with the regular Eve soundtrack. Great stuff.

He's talking about there being more music from Jon Hallur, or a contest of some kind from the players to add music to the default playlist. Not copy the files for use outside of Eve.

Eves music was obviously inspired in part by Future Sound of Londons "Lifeforms", tho it unfortunately can't compare to this landmark of electronic music.

New music would be great, but I want a jukebox revamp in addition to new music. So I can add triggers to play some kind of evil fanfare when I do something to get concorded or the like.

I don't want more music so much as I want better sound quality for the existing music. 64 kbps was acceptable in 2003 when they were trying to cram the game client onto a single CD. These days? Not okay.
