Can someone thumbs up my post please? I feel entitled to it since i took the time to say please, and I think it's only reasonable that you take the time to be the same.

Back in my day, when phones had a little disc on it that rotated and were attached to the wall with a wire, men were ashamed to be thought of as a quitter.

Back in your day sexual harassment and physical violence against other employees as well as out-of-work harassment was tolerated.

Back in your day job security was a dirty word and a single income paid for a house.

This.

Also he was quite nice to give you 48 hours.

Furthermore you should have been thankful to be accepted into a group where you could make 1.2bn ISK in your first 7 days of playing.

And while we're at it: posting chatlogs outside of C&P is prohibited.
And I'm not so sure a mod wouldn't consider all this a rant and "not posting constructively".
And "quitting" posts are only allowed in the out of pod channel.

Help me! My eyes! Did a noob just tell us Goonswarm isn't very NICE??? OMG!! After seven days he figured out what we missed in seven years! How did this happen? Who's in charge of this chicken outfit anyway?!! Gimme some namez!!!

The right to free speech doesn't automatically carry with it the right to be taken seriously.

How can I say this? (It is of no consequence to me if I seem nice.) Reading the OP's lines (and doing a line count) vs. the CEO's, I have to say the CEO probably wasn't interested in someone writing a book on his time. I know I wouldn't have had time for that "conversation" which was essentially a lecture by a seven-day-old player to a CEO from a "rather" well-established corp. (Attaching Goonswarm to it since they're in the alliance? I'm not going to make that leap, myself.)

I think I detected a person (the OP) who is accustomed to being treated a tad differently IRL than he was in that corp. Truly, if they're such butt heads, nothing is keeping anyone there. It takes all kinds to make up this world and if you found the nest of butt heads, mark it on the map and move on. (Not many week-old players can claim to hold 1.whatever BILLION ISK, by the way, so the relationship has to be seen as somewhat profitable to the OP.)

I see no reason to quit the game, personally. If you have an experience like that with a handful of dummies amid 20,000 players on average per moment, you can't really indict the entire playerbase by it, AND if that is making you quit, either we aren't getting the whole story (such as what sort of person is the OP really?), or the OP had no intention to stay anyway and just wanted to make a splash on the way out - which again says a lot about the OP.

Sorry. I'm more than slightly biased against Goonwaffles in all forms, and love to heap scathingly scourging remarks their way, but this simply doesn't qualify for a good Bronx cheer. OP - Good luck with your future endeavors.
I won't beg you to stay.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

I would suggest make a new toon/alt and start again the reason I say this REVENGE is sweet have played in many mmos and you get players who think they are god but we know better .
If you need help ask many players will help you I am limited in just about everything still learning even me mate and ceo says have wads to learn, but going in right direction.
so I say to you start again ask for help even I will try to help you where I can but wish you well hope things turn out ok for you

My only regret is not getting this person kicked sooner. A week ago he went off for an hour in corp chat because his song was skipped in a plug.dj room ran by somebody in our corp. In hindsight that should probably have been a good indication of things to come.

I do think that quitting the game because you didn't fit in with our culture is a bit extreme , but that is obviously your choice.

Best of luck with your future endeavors.

Also: I agree with Ian Praetorius that you have the patience of a saint Markonius

C'mon OP really? Dude I just started playing too but ya gotta get some thick skin SON! No one likes holding hands in any Corp or guild in any game! Its certainly not just Eve

Man, I am a kind and respectful person n all ( Im Canadian , I cant help it) but JEEZUS, somehow you've managed to alienate and look like the biggest irrational d**k in a thread full of Goon posts hahah That is an accomplishment man!

Why let anyone run you outta a game you said yourself you could become addicted too? Clearly you enjoy Eve alot, so let this situation light a fire under your a$$. Use it to motivate you, not make ya cry and run away - C'MON bro! Man UP -

Nothing on EARTH can make a PVP game more fun then a great enemy and it seems like you have made yourself believe you indeed have that.

So you were told to **** off?
Big deal man , Suck it up buttercup!

Wow If Karma Fleet actually slaps the Dek ( <--- see what i did there Big smile ) off little forum cry babies and makes them run away from Eve sulking , I think now I may really want to join

OP, this game is an MMO. You can easily find other people that do not treat you poorly and trust them to be respectful.

Do not let one bad interaction taint an entire game, that's just misplacing your anger because you were not allowed to speak your peace and move on.

ISD day off?

Lol

On a side note: Re-roll wont help if you handed out your full API or if your GSF (as you call it) friend have his full API available to them.

On another side note: I consider myself lucky not having to ban you from my comms or kicking you out of my Corp... All this drama because a **** off? Really?

Roll

Edit to add: I'm wondering if he will stay playing EVE and become a high sec miner... some of that chat would be a great story in minerbumping with other interlocutor, of course.

If your balls are hurt and bleeding don't sit in a pool full of piranhas (note to myself: don't complain in GD)

In reality, I think the average Goon fails miserably at their own philosophy and is much nicer than they're supposed to be.

In all my experiences with "goons", i've found them to be nothing but helpful and wonderful to each other. Sure, we love to haze, troll, and laugh at eachother for how bad we are at everything (for real how do I spaceship) but at the end of the day a large majority of the most awesome people I have met in my short time in EVE online have been goons and CODE agents.

As a matter of fact, if it wasn't for the evil goons I would still be sitting in high-sec mining some stupid rock and actually believing the others around me who had me convinced that it would be years of skill training before I could ever dare be part of the whole PVP experience. I got lucky, found the CFC, and a week later I was a part of one of the largest battles in sov null last month and having the time of my life.

tl;dr grrr gons hat gons

There you go. Helpful, wonderful and awesome goons.

Lemme know when this madness ends, so I can put the warpaint back on my face, undust my barbarian axe, come screaming for Goonblood again and kill some of these "rifterlovers".

Thanx

You joined goons and were surprised to find out they are ass-hats.

Dude, this is literally like being surprised that **** sticks to everything, and stinks.

If you want my opinion, you made a mistake about joining goons in the first place, but there are lots of people here who aint goons, with varying concentration of ass-hats, but generally less (I can name only two or three alliances who are more of an ass-hats than goons).

There is no need to condemn the game just because you ran into goons and stepped into their... uhm... they call it 'culture', rest of us would probably call it 'manure'.

Honestly, the guy gave you a good evac plan. Both time- and assets-wise. Use it, then try finding a group you like. This ain't easy, as not that many groups are recruiting and even less of them are new player friendly, but it's probably easier than ever with the recent ff change. And yes, fitting into the group is as hard as the dude explained, and even friends irl are often unfit to be in the same group, I speak from experience here, as I have more than ten of my friends play eve, and only two of them fit with me, and even after all that, their directions don't really match mine, so we are likely to break up and go our separate way.

Being teh freightergankbear automatically puts you below missionbear and minerbear in carebear hierarchy.

If you're about to make "this will make eve un-eve" argument, odds are you are defending some utterly horrible mechanics against a good change.

This post is 100% correct. Goons are indeed the Interbus Ship Identification System of EVE.
