That isn't stopping CCP listening to the results.

Yeah, see the addition to my previous post.
Part of my platform is working with the system to bring about some other vote options such as, "Abstain," "I have no faith in the CSM" and so forth.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Your platform?

The CSM isn't an advocate of change or leadership in the community.

It's a focus group.

It gives feedback to CCP on CCPs ideas. It doesn't propose ideas for CCP to implement.

I like and the result of that option would be a refreshing insight to the CSM system

If you have 10% shouting, "Listen to this guy," then you should let the 90% say, "No, don't listen to them." If there is a year without CSM and CCP go totally crazy then the following year more people will vote and run for elections.

1. Who is shouting? My vote is not a brash yell of rabble it is a considered decision to support those with whom I glean to share opinions on what is good for Eve Online.

2. Why should any one who chooses to abstain from an active process be given a voice in that process?

3. The cause and effect argument you put forward is at best tenuous if CCP go totally crazy I believe there will be significantly less people voting for the CSM next year because the user base and specifically the user base that cares about Eve Online enough to be involved in the CSM process will have cancelled their subscriptions.

Have we got any studies on those people? Maybe it would be good for the game?
I know with Anarchy Online, they had a very vocal PVP minority that Funcom were listening to, while it consistently kept impacting and ruining PVE.

Will people disagree, sure they will. They play the meta more than they play the game.

Two questions:

1. Why is it important?

2. Why was the CSM originally established and for what purpose?

The answer to the second question informs the answer to the first. To me, it makes the CSM unimportant. It may be important to CCP, but not to players. It's not a tool for us. It's a tool for CCP.

So you can stick me in the group that disagrees, but I also play the game everyday. Less so, the metagame.

But I vote anyway. Which is kind of stupid. It would be smarter of me not to.

Why would they care about the CSM?

It's hard enough to get people to vote IRL

voting IRL means going places that are outside of people's basements.

voting for CSM is just pressing a few buttons. you don't have to go anywhere and use real paper with real ink and then put it in a real box.

PvE in EVE is enough of a joke already. no need to compare it to Anarchy.

I do not know who will be my voice, I do not know who you or anyone else is that is runnning for CSM is but in eve i do not talk to strangers cause they are all out to scam me...

Who is the voice of the Miner? Convince me it is you and next time i am in my account management i might click the vote thing for someone, but it is not likely cause I do not even vote IRL cause to me, they lie and scam me too...

Wait i am not a Miner, I am an Alt, Alt's have rights to? Who will be my voice??

In my signature link, I talk about ways to help miners stand and fight. Any high sec candidate probably has mining close to their hearts.
I just look at what I feel is imbalanced or broken, regardless of game aspect, however.

I went to the voting page and saw images, I dragged some Images to the Top where they stuck there like magic!

And that's how I cast my votes... I had no idea who I was voting for... Just pictures...

BTW, when are CSM election results out? And where do we see them? (I'm lazy, I know, but... EVE is Hard).

Even that is a good thing, some candidates will be able to say, "At least some people believe in me"
