CCP ban trading bots already. Really why not ? Why do you letting them mess the market ? I just got confirmation that there is certain "C# software" (starting with Ref*).
From my understanding it allows trading alts to sit almost 24/7 in hubs and modify orders on cooldown. There is many sell orders everywhere at hubs that indicating this sort of bs when new orders appear to be price of the last order minus few cents(random nuber like .96).
No human being is able to sit 24\7 and modify orders by few cents, your eyes will shut down.

You claim to have the following:

- proof that these people are bots
- a detailed understanding of exactly how they set orders

Sounds like you can take them to the cleaners with that information.

Do that first, then report them to CCP as well.

To be fair, there are obvious bots which seem to just get ignored, even if you report them as such. There's one based in Amarr for example which logs out then back in every 7 minutes like clockwork and updates any of his orders within minutes of being cut at all times. Jita too is pretty much a minerfield of botters, you can find evidence of them on most lower value high volume items. CCP do quite well to get rid of mining and ratting bots, but for trading bots they do fall behind quite heavily.

What CCP can do is to dig this bots out and ban all the users permanently, we all know they are banning all accounts. That will be enough demotivation for them to just quit botting.

I doubt it. A significant portion of botters do so to fund RMT, and as long as their customers have paid for more than the account cost them, they won't much care. Most of these bots, even the blatantly obvious ones, you report and you still see for months. For CCP to have an impact they need to respond more quickly to botters, to catch them before they make profit.

Honestly, I think you should be able to flag market orders as "potential bot" too, by right clicking the order. If a significant number of players report a given player, it should flag to GMs for manaul review. Part of the problem we have right now is that to get the name of a potential botter to report, we have to buy from or sell to their orders. If we were able to report when we saw the same market order reacting in a short time, it would streamline the process considerably.

I agree 100%, but looks like now it was swept under the carpet.

No bot operates on an island. Once identified, it is better to observe, let the user to plex for a few months, identify reliable signatures to burn future bots sooner. Then purge all acquired assets of the bot and any others found in its network.

Burning a bot on sight is a short sighted strategy to combating botting and RMT.
