Hello space pals.

on 2 occasions this session i dropped a can and pulled over the contents of my target's can into it. i gained a suspect of course. however, on both occasions the target looted my can without gaining a suspect flag.

first time i was off grid at a perch and no one in local got flagged, it was only when i d-scanned i noticed it had been looted. second time i was on grid with them (different target 1-2 hours later). they didn;t go suspect, i even targeted and tried to engaged scram just incase it was overview lag ( i have crimanl set to amber to stop any unfortunate accidents) i was unable to.

so is this a bug or did something change over the 2 years i was away?

i checked ownership of can (mine) it was white to me, i did not abandon etc.

any help, or shared similar experiences appreciated.

just me being dumb, i think i must have been suspect before i dropped the can allowing others to loot it, although i was unaware of this feature until a few mins ago

In short, when you get a suspect flag other pilots can freely engage you without penalty or concord aggression. This also means that players can freely steal from your cargo containers. While this is a nerf to "can flipping" it's not impossible to get them to shoot you... Just takes a little more patience and bugging them in the right ways.

Yes the old can flipping is gone.
mission flipping is still good, but takes a bit more nuance and requires the bear to agress you
