I've decided to switch from shield tanking to armor tanking for my PvE, and I am struggling with getting my head around the different modules that are needed.
With shields, its relatively simple, hardeners (active and passive), boosters and boost amplifiers, but with Armor theres a lot more modules.
which of the resist boosters should i use out of the hardeners, energized plating, resistance plating and reactive armor hardeners?
Armor plates are buffers and add HP, but what about layered plating and energized armor latering?
Sorry if these are noob questions.

It depends, PVE is a pretty broad topic. What are you flying and what are you doing?

Is this for 4s?
What ships did you have in mind?

Currently flying a Navy Apoc, with an eye for upgrading it to a paladin at somepoint, and its for Amarr L4's.

You would generally use an active tank which means a Large Armor Repairer and Active Hardeners that are specific to the mission.

Stuff you shouldn't need to fit / shouldnt fit when armor tanking 4s:
Buffer
Resistance Plates
dmg specific energized membranes
RAH (pally could use this if you wanted)

You want to fit dmg specific active hardeners and possibly an EANM

How much tank you fit kinda depends on you SP for dmg and armor tanking as well as whether or not you're in a short or long range setup.
