so couple of people cant get on masstest due the DoD failure

the download on demand is not yet fully operational be aware of that. so call it disorder on download .
CCP hasnt stated yet if there any workarounds stucking launcher rather moving on with controversal updates. whole download on demand is just heartstab for those who have mobile internet and have transfer limit so they cant download evryting all at once. for me it looks like attempt to throw away low-end users with slower internet connections.

===============================
restarted suspended at 100% launcher to get at next run a 0% , another restart 0% and another 0% repair.exe 22mb patch then i hit launcher - 0% another restart -% repairexe another 22mb patch at end downloaded 15 ""22 mb"" patches and launcher isnt even going to go ever 0.1% it sits 0%

I lost the link to the test survey. Can someone post it here?

Something to take note of in regards to the test.

It appears when you optimize your settings for performance, it disables the option to use resource cache.

Many people experienced a lot of performance issues during the test and probably quickly optimized their settings. I know I did along with a few people in chat discussing it.

You still giving away the 4M points? I was not able to get the downloads for my mac.

I was hoping to participate this time. (First time ever)

Nobody from CCP said anything about 4M. This is a hoax.

But I'll try to add skill points for those who tried to join but failed to download.

Missed the test time by a few hours, but noticed this on the DoD. I changed the Cache path to D:\Programdata\ccp\EVE_Test and the client then created all of the following directories;

D:\programdata\ccp\EVE_\sharedCache
D:\programdata\ccp\EVE_t\sharedCache
D:\programdata\ccp\EVE_te\sharedCache
D:\programdata\ccp\EVE_tes\sharedCache
D:\programdata\ccp\EVE_test\sharedCache

Might want to look at the directory creation function. Can confirm that only the correct folder has the cache files in it.

Thanks, I did manage to get on half way through and chase you all through the gates, but didn't get an invite into a fleet. I hope that was enough, but I did see the icons, and filled in the survey and posted on the forum my reactions. I hope that was sufficient.

But oh god the icons, i need to buy younger eyes. I pray to all that's holy you take some mercy on us?

rewatching my FRAPS of the fights, my frame rate dropped down to 0.21 FPS more often that i could count...wow, just wow. And that was a rather unpopulated Mass Test compared to the last quite a few that i've participated in...

Something interesting, my framerate was garbage during the gatecamp fight, less than 1 fps, I then optimized the settings to performance, warped off grid, manually put all my setting to high, and when i warped back on grid my fps was consistent at ~30 fps

That was some pretty impressive chugalugging for being not as many people as a normal mass test... I had even tried resetting and lowering my settings during the fight but I never saw any difference.

And some further observations about the icons (not that there isn't ooodles of worthwhile feedback and suggestions in the UI thread already):

1) After having tried to use these new icons, I must admit that for me previously the old icons were mostly only to identify that the ship in question was a player ship, if I cared any more about it I would use the Type column and remove any doubt. That is all it needed to be and it was quite simple and clean.

2) There was incredible lag during the test, and even though there were actually fewer people than normal from what it looked like (instead of giant hording blob of ships). I'm pretty sure my fps monitor was lying most of the time cause I couldn't even move my camera or barely do anything with massive delays, I was seeing a frame every second or two or longer but my framerate said it was in the teens more often than not.

3) The states of people were clearly visible in space on their icons due to having the room and open area in the icon to display this status. See below example, especially for caps, the icon nearly completely hides the state color.

4) It took several minutes before the POS shield even showed up on my screen. The whole time ship models were slowly popping in that weren't there before. (maybe that is why the screenshot looks less populated?

5) I had to zoom really far out to get the lag under what might be considered reasonable control (1 or 2 frames a second as compared to a frame every second or 3).

Picture for reference:

That group of caps seriously looks like a christmas tree farm, in space.

Good effort, but Icons shouldn't try to give more information than they should. They should not try to duplicate info that is redundant to information that is otherwise clearly and quickly seen in the Overview column for Type.

It dropped from 60 to 30fps just warping to the pos and (after warping from where the bubble was to the pos again lol)
and bashing it, and 30ish during the gatecamp.
I see your point about the christmas trees being shown to denote that group of caps Big smile

the cache directory was about 2Gb in size after the test was concluded on my machine

This is part of the reason for the mass test. I also experienced this issue for the first time and it was thanks to the mass test.

We are now aware of the issue and are investigating what the root cause was.

Thank you all for helping with this mass test. We experienced several problems, including low fps, missing icons, launcher problems, sound problems and so on. We are investigating all these issues and we will schedule another mass test for next week - more information later.

Skill points have been applied to 802 characters - due to various issues I extended the list of recipients to all, who managed to login between 16:00 and 19:00 and I will include a few more from this this thread, who did not manage to login at all.

exacly the launcher didnt allow to update the client properly it was either hanging up at 0% or download stopped half way.
will it be there any solutions for broken DoD ?
im wondering why thing stopping download in unexcepted moments, it just reach certain percentage and wont go further untill i restart launcher to start over again . clearing cache doesnt help as it still suspend download process

I saw several drops too. I typically had 5 to 10, but it would drop to low values. Changing my viewpoint seemed to be a trigger. Its like whenever I was looking at something new, the fps would get hit.

Also: stargate jumps were quite bad, with long pauses (5 to 10 seconds) in the animation.
Also, some times I would get a short animation freeze during a warp, but the fps window continued to update, and show a high rate.

I keep missing the mass tests as they're not posting in the TQ launcher so I can get ready.
Worried about losing my Test SP boosts.

Is there a place I should monitor for future mass tests?

Hey this was my first Beta Test and my client crashed half-way through :( I did rejoin and get to finish off testing but haven't received any skillpoints. I completed the survey, do I need to do anything else?
