"Gift"

If having your life end when you are killed, to face your final judgment in the hereafter, as God intended, is what it takes to insure that those who are evil, those like the Butcher and the thousands of other monsters, likewise have their lives end when they are killed by the righteous, so that they can never commit their evils again? Yes.

It is a gift and a curse, we sacrifice our ability to visit his kingdom in order to protect those who still have that chance, and to bring His wrath on those who seek to end those lives before there time, and what happens when the good are killed and cannot be resurrected? What if evil is all that is left and His warriors can not stand against them without our help? What then sister?

None of us have the right to speak of what God thinks, we do not know his infinite thoughts, so do not claim to know, we are His creations, therefor our creations are extensions of his..

You have a contract? Really? That is your excuse for not destroying your ability to be re-cloned? If it is such a sin sister and since you claim to know what He wants and what He thinks, then you should want to serve what you say He wants.. If it is a sin by your logic, then are you not evil for not turning yourself into nothing but biomass?

And it is a gift to serve His light forever! To bring His gifts and light to the cluster long after others have, we sacrifice everything we are, and our oppertunity to be granted a place in His kingdom to serve him internally, to bring others to His light so they may live in His kingdom! We are do not matter, our actions do! It is our job as His divine tools of his will! Maybe i am alone in this but it is selfish to think of ones self when doing His work, we are here to spread His light, forever, and to bring peace, we have that ability, we can do it, selfishness is what stops this, people thinking they matter, they dont, the needs of us, even as Capsuleers means nothing to those of the mortals! We are here for them sister Hernher! Not for ourselves, we are the immortals of His light, His will made manifest! We are able to bring His light and peace to the cluster, for the simple sacrifice of our ability to join Him in His kingdom! This is a worthy trade! One we should be happy to make! And proud to make! So do not sit there and tell me of my sin because i am an immortal, when i chose this, i did so to serve the Amarr empire and His will, not my own, Not to speak for Him as if i was him, i am nothing without His guidance, and I will use that guidance to bring peace, and His light to this cluster!

Good! That was Gods work! And His will! You do it for His glory, not your own!

1 Million may be dead, but how many were saved else where? How many would not be here now if not for the efforts of other capsuleers protecting the system? HOW MANY? We are HIS warriors! Nothing more, we do HIS will, for HIS glory, we save millions every day when we all combine our efforts, think of that before you go condeming those who serve His will without thinking of themselves

I do not defend becoming an immortal.. I do not wish this life on any, but there are those who wear this mantle proudly, who would give their life if it was possible to save any who could join His light, to protect any innocent, we are here because we are the only ones that can do it, we are here because we are the protectors of His realm, while some, even the majority as you say might be the destroyers, so what? Does that mean we should give up and die as you reccomend? To throw this gift of serving Him and his people for all time? Are you so selfish? I may be young compare to you "superiors" but i obviously have more heart and will then you at least, I have more dedication! I have given up everything for this chance, and i have done it purely to serve him and protect this cluster, remember that

You arrogant little whelp. You look at capsuleers through a romanticized ideals and dress them in the robes of paragons when you truly understand nothing of the true nature of our kind. You would do well to listen to your betters, questioning one the most virtuous of the Amarr kindred and daring to elevate your petty worthless self over her is a grave mistake. You need a lesson in humility. As a token of good will due to your infantile age among our kind I will give you one chance - and one chance only - to repent and apologize to 1st Lieutenant Kernher. Clemency is not a virtue of mine, should you choose to not heed my words I will find you and deliver you a first hand lesson in why she considers us amoral monsters with good reason. If you're feeling brave, ask of Asakai and then think hard on whether it is worth to bring on the ire of this particular Angel.

Leave him be, Vincent. Leave him his idealism. God knows we could use some around here.

Whether we view cloning as a blessing, a curse or both, it doesn't matter. The quantum state on this has already collapsed. All we can do mitigate the damage.

And if you won't accept his criticism of Samira, than accept mine. I'm appalled at how little value Samira places on the importance of those saved. It may feel futile to you, but it's salvation on a profound level to the ones saved! Ask them if it mattered. Ask them if they consider the one who rescued them to be a monster or a savior. Ask me if I wished for someone to save me every day those ******* came for me to run another "test!" Ask me if I wished for someone to save me every night when lay in my quarters blind and crying between dry heaves from the pain! But, I'm still more fortunate than one of Nauplius' victims because I eventually was released. I know what it's like to wish for salvation, and Samira's trivialization of it disgusts me.

Samira, you are my friend, and just as you will tell me my faults when you see them, I will do the same for you.

I'm told that Righteousness is a path, and it is one best traveled with patience and diligence. We may not be able to stop Nauplius now, he must continue to be opposed, as one day he will be defeated. Just as his being a capsuleer gives him a tenacity to keep coming back, our being capsuleers gives us the endurance to continue opposing him.

Have you given up? Are you admitting defeat?

I hope not.

I suggest everyone in this thread calm themselves. It does not do well for wills and resolve to fly apart every time an atrocity occurs. This is the reality of our age and we are obligated to deal with it, not collapse into a mess of bickering, over-emotional children.

I address all the faithful here: differences in clone theology are inevitable until the Theology Council begins to make rulings on our status. Recognize your ignorance to God's plan in this respect and await the revelation on our nature. In the meantime, do your work to the best of your ability.

I personally will take solace that my faith will not allow this Butcher to go unpunished.

I'm not trivializing it, Starfall.

I'm saying that those people would have never even needed saving if this technology didn't exist. If there was no cloning, the Butcher would have died permanently in his first podding 6 years ago and no one would have ever had to suffer under him.

What I am saying is that the only way to accomplish any lasting good is to go after the source of the problem.

Just as you would have never had to have endured what you did if the corporation that did it had been shut down for its malpractices.

And if there was no cloning then Sansha's Nation would have overtaken the cluster already because apparently only pod interfaces are capable of resisting the system-wide electronics disruption that are deployed during incursions. Without cloning there would never have been enough capsuleers to resist the resurgence of the Nation. We are also certainly the only things capable of resisting the Sleepers and Drifters if they choose to invade.

The matter with capsuleers is not the technology, it is the fact that they are not beholden to laws that hold them accountable for misdeeds.

"Gift"

If having your life end when you are killed, to face your final judgment in the hereafter, as God intended, is what it takes to insure that those who are evil, those like the Butcher and the thousands of other monsters, likewise have their lives end when they are killed by the righteous, so that they can never commit their evils again? Yes.

No.. I thought not Kernher.. So think, please, next time before you say such a thing.. By an extension of what you just said, you would take away Gods warriors ability to do His holy work..

Using weapons of evil is not doing God's work. God looks upon those who are clones and He surely feels only anger and sorrow.

Cloning is a grave crime for our emperors and heirs, because their blood is sacred in its purity and nearness to God. But everyone is a creation of God, and even the most impure were created with His touch. Cloning is a sin against God for every person down to the lowest slave.

Quote:
But if you truly feel like we should be made mortal.. Then please, i invite you to pick up a Nova Blade, and drive it into each and every clone of yourself, and your burn your cloning station.. And damage your pods scanner.. Then, after you have done that, then i believe you should have the right to say such things..

I do not have jump clones. I do not have backup clones. I have a medical clone contract only because CONCORD's laws mandate that all capsuleers must in order to have a capsule license. If those laws didn't exist, I wouldn't have them either. My original self did not become a capsuleer to become a clone, and I don't intend on ever making use of that "service" either.

I am already mortal. We all are. We're as mortal as the slaves the Butcher killed. Clones are replacements, not continuations. We would be lucky to even have souls. There is no gift.

Quote:
And you would have us all punished because of those evil few who commit crimes.. I am lost..

Of course, if that is not what you meant then please, enlighten us all as to what you actually meant, as i do not believe one of His faithful would condemn so many to die, so please, please tell me you meant something to the contrary..

With my own warp disruptor and missile turrets I killed Nauplius one month ago. I cracked his pod and spilt his body to the vacuum of space.

One million people are dead today, because a new duplicate of him was able to get off the assembly line to continue his slaughter. And you'll find the same across the entire cluster, millions and millions, billions of people even, are dying every year, to ghosts.

Cloning is what condemns people to die, and by arguing in its defense you are condoning those deaths. You are still new to capsuleering, Sariah. You'll be swiftly finding that those who uphold good and nobility are the vast minority of capsuleers. The monsters are not 'few'. It is the good ones that are few. And when those who are good cannot actually put a stop to those that are evil, we're left with a universe where evil is rampant. And what good can we really do, when the demons we slay get back up from the grave?

How many more unstoppable butchers do we need before people start realizing the evil we've unleashed?

That is... a lot of assumptions. You sound sure of yourself... ?

Here's a good one for the 'true believers': If everything that happens is God's will, then the independance of the Minmatar Republic is as well. You don't get to pick and choose what is and what isn't, so stop making excuses that 'God made you do it' and take responsibility for your own actions.

Well that is, indeed... No ?

That was a central and recurring theme among Amarrian society after the defeat at Vak'Atioth. Everyone now seems to agree, bare a few backward hardliners, that a certain consequence befell on Amarr for a certain reason. The reason itself being still discussed today - sin, pride, overconfidence, a Faith led astray...

The Empire has existed for four thousand years and we have never before needed cloning to do God's work.

Some might argue that we do it even better with it. I know I do. I work better with clones, immortality, and keeping the integrity of my youth, avoiding disease, decay and eventually, what befalls with age. I perform dozen of times better with implants than any baseliner without. We are at the next step of evolution, and it is referred to in most scientific milieux as H+.

If we are not ready for that, or even against it, then perhaps we should have stopped at the invention of fire. Even in that age, there was one willing to learn it, and one afraid to do so. It is a choice, not a sin. It is the choice to learn more and evolve with the Creation. Chosing not to do is akin to chosing not to learn, and that, is a sin.

Samira Kernher wrote:

Good does not need cloning to do good, while evil thrives off of it for it allows evil to avoid the consequences of doing evil.

Cloning also allows 'Good' to avoid death to begin with. Cloning, and the capsule, is a tool. The issue does not lie with the tool, but with the law and legislation around it.

Samira Kernher wrote:
His Highness the Heir Kador afterall has also condemned cloning, and called capsuleers impure.

His Highness Kador is one among many. I am still waiting to hear about it from the TC, and the other Heirs as well... And perhaps the Empres too.

What if they hold a different view on it ?

Samira Kernher wrote:

You tell me. You claim to know more than the rest of us from your two weeks as a capsuleer, you claim to have the more dedication with your lack of deeds, so please, tell us how many.

I think Captain Seriah's question was... purely rhetorical.

I know, though, that even being a two weeks old capsuleer as you say, I feel more echo in his words than in yours... Forgive me.

I have yet to understand this constant need for capsuleers to affirm themselvses through their single age in the capsule, or their killboard stats, as a necessary and sufficient condition for asserting their right.

But if it really bears any weight here... How old are you, as a capsuleer ?
