Hey guys !

So for the past 3 days I've been running a small lottery business in Dodixie. At first things were going very slow since people thought it was a scam. Then someone in local told me I should livestream it so people could see that i'm actually contracting the ships to customers, and since then more and more people have purchased tickets from me.

It works just like a basic lottery, 8 tickets are to be purchased by people, and when all tickets are purchased I roll a dice with a website to figure out the winner.

So i'm posting there for 2 things : one is obviously for advertisement and other thing is I wanted to ask if you guys had some tips and advices to make this business sucessfull. I've already did a free lottery when I reached lottery #10 to keep people interested but i'm always looking for new ideas to make customers happy.

Anyways, livestream is this way if you guys want to check it out, i'm live atm : http://www.twitch.tv/prettyobvious !

Fly safe everyone o/

It's like [FOTM microlottery site], but painfully slow.

It is true that it is sometimes really slow to get the ball rolling.

Yesterday I've had a few lotteries that completed in like 10 minutes when I had a dozen people on the stream and they were all interested on playing.

However sometimes it is really slow and some lotteries can take up to an hour. Hence why I'm posting here. I could use alts to speed things up but I don't want to since I want to keep this business fair for everyone. So I'm always looking for new ideas to advertise / make this more attractive to people.

Consider partnering with a corporation for a steady supply of more rare items and ships, like capitals for example.

That's a very good idea, thanks. However, I think it's still a bit early for that. To give you an idea about how small this business is at the moment, here is a list of the prizes won by people so far : http://i.imgur.com/eE8mVWN.png

Keep in mind this is only my 3rd day doing this, so i'm still operating on a very small scale. This is a very good idea though, if I can get this thing to grow enough I'll surely do that :) Thanks !

Do you purchase the prize first, and then raffle it out?

You could complete far more, and far larger prizes if you first raffle out the prize, and THEN buy the prize after it has been won (paid for + profit).

You could add a policy that says prizes will be issued within so much timeframe, and if prize is unavailable refunds will be issued.

If you do this, find a nice average price for the item in, most likely, Jita, and add profit plus a small 5mil or 50-100mil buffer on top of all that. Divide this number by your ticket count and you're all set to post infinite lotteries that you only need to fill if they complete, purchasing prizes with ticket funds rather than your own funds.
