Everytime i need to search something more specific on forum, i receive a error message.

Pls, ccp, whe need urgent a more powerfull solution to search things in forums, more filtes, like time for example.

The only workable solution i find until now, it is, use the google to make searchs.

I don't have any particular issues with the forum search (but agree some additional filters on an advanced search would be helpful), but if you have issues, eve-search might be an option:

Searching instead of starting new threads on old topics does indeed deny us thread locks. As it is generally known we loooove to lock threads I would say: Stop the search!!!Big smile

On a more serious note though, I have relaid the valid remarks and request to the relevant team within CCP.

Edit: Also, please feel free to submit a bug report under the Forum category if you encounter an error using the search function.

Yeah, but where's your bouncey lock icon? Hmmm? I searched for an identical topic to this, but couldn't find one.
Does this mean the search function SUCKS???? Shocked Things that make you go, "Hmmmm...."

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

The upgrade to the forum search is Google.

While I agree that the search function deserves a much needed buff, not to mention needs to be bigger, with strobe lights and neons, and a siren, what we really need is a CCP Paperclip assistant for new topics.

Example:

NPC ForumAlt A decides to forgo searching or even looking for 'closed socket' and proceeds to create a new topic to sperg all over General Discussion about how blah blah blah weve all heard it ten million times. When he gets done farting on his keyboard, a little animated paperclip pops up.
CCP Paperclip wrote:
"Hello! It appears you are about to post a redundant topic! Please consider posting in one of these threads first! [Hyperlinked list of currently open threads on the same subject]."
Now, until at least 50% of the links it provides are looked at, the 'post' button will be grayed out an unaccessible. Now, if NPC ForumAlt A decides to press 'post' after all that, CCP Paperclip once again pops up.
CCP Paperclip wrote:
It appears that you are attempting to post this to General Discussion. Wouldn't this be more appropriate in Issues, Workarounds and Localization?
Now the option to 'post in appropriate subforum' appears. If 'post in appropriate subforum' is selected, the topic is posted to IWL. If 'post' is selected, the topic is posted in General Discussion, but is automatically flagged for review by ISD.

THAT is the forum upgrade we all need.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

No. The one we deserve is the one we have now, where GD is the main receptacle for all threads redundant as hell, and the GD militia does its best to troll the crap out of them as many times as humanly possible before the ISD stops laughing and hits the 'lock' button.

Add this to the start of Google searches:

site:forums.eveonline.com

I find the native forum search will "crash" when the search returns too many posts. Try to refine your search. The native forum search is only really useful when posting order / date matters to you.

Ask not what your forum can search for you.... Ask what Google can do for your forum searches!

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Umm... ok.. I don't see how that helped.

Not as effective as I would like but better than the EVE forums search functions.

Go to Google and type the following:

Jenshae for CSM site:forums.eveonline.com

CCP - Building ant hills and magnifying glasses for fat kids

Not even once

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.
