Seriously, suicide gank character is not a guy to be set in stone. While CCP will have a serious talk should you start biomassing criminals on monthly basis, most of these chars intended to be used for AFK crap like PI, researching/manufacturing or, in best case, cloaksitting on gates in low/null for providing some degree of intel. Even more so, suicide gank character with high probability may actually fly that Retriever next belt, eliminating neighbours in "I-build-my-own-empire" game.

So? Tank your ships and unite.

And no, I don't mean joining one corp, that's just dumb. You've got player-created chats, contact list, contract network and comms.
Few drinks consumed and few jokes while being on comms gets you closer than some digital label called "corporation".
Few contracts or joint manufacture plans gets you closer than some digital label called "corporation".
Actually doing stuff together in fleet gets you closer than some digital label called "corporation".

Trying to keep an up to date list is an exercise in futility.

Relying on your own intel channels and the readily available up to date info the KBs provide is more than sufficient.

Been away winning eve for the most part, and for the life of me I have never understood the mentaility of these lists.

First off, what is your definition of a 'Ganker'?

Due to the fact that most folks that actually engage of destroying other nerds pixels are actually called "Gankers".

The term has been so diluted that folks with sandy vajajay's losing pixels will label everyone "Gankers", it is losing it's meaning.
