So... Carrier or Marauder to ratting in 0.0

So ppl, i like to ask for the input from comunity.

In face of recent changes, i think the carrier for ratting, is dead.

Aside the always present danger for ganking, now you will have to pay a extra carefull atention for your drones, turning the ratting with carrier a really stressful job.

Then i like to ask.

Carrier or Marauder?

Pls ppl, make it simple.

Or you can pull drones before warping.

Marauder? No.
Marauders are good because of the bastion mod and you are dooming yourself if you are planning on using it in null ratting.
If a hostile gang suddenly appears in local because your intel is useless, you'll be wanting to be already aligned and warping to a pos, but with the bastion you will be waiting in that site for a minute (An eternity) and THEN start aligning off. That is more than enough time for the hostile ceptor to find you and point you.

Carrier? They are fun, but get an ishtar or a rattle.

pull drones and carry a combat fit with a cyno and get a rush worrying if your drones will return in time being dropped. marauder is no use for ratting

PFFT, maraders are fine for ratting assuming you have some form of defence option available in the area you are flying in. Granted I have literally no experience of this in null but in low sec if it's pvp fit then they are great at running sites then when someone comes to mess your day up you engage their ass and call in friends.

PVE generating PVP content using a ship thats designed to handle the dps till help arrives? Who would have thought it!

Then once your fleet has crushed the enemy to dust or they run away like cowards looking for easy kills elsewhere you can toast to your mates you are pro **** and that NO ONE STOPS YOU RATTING.

Or of course you can just take a (insert perfectly capable normal ship) and dock up till they leave the area while you play WOT?

Oh I tried to resist. I love my Machariel, it's my favorite ship in the game. But I had a second null pve toon and decided to dual box anomalies again (I used to do that back when i lived in Tribute using a Mach and a FoF missile tengu against Guristas, but ccp nerfed heavy missiles and tracking enhancers lol).

At 1st I did mach and Domi. it was great but I could do better. Then mach and Fleet Typhoon with FoF missiles ( WAY better). Found myself screwing around in EFT and saw how (for what I was doing) a Rattlesnake would be even better so I sold the Floon and got a 'Snake. Holy crap it was even better....

Then I realized that I should just go all in. Sold the mach, bought a second Rattlesnake and it's crazy good. RIP Mach lol. The carrier guys are looking at me going "WTF mate" as I blow through anomalies lol.

My advice is search, search hard for a careless carebear, because i think it will be a way more dificulty to find a kill of carrier from now on.

Leaving aside the trolls (always have), the input from you guys it's very much apreciated.

I tried to resist too. I like very much the mecanic of carrier. But it's useless, i see that now.

It's a shame the CCP will remove the only viable capital for ratting, but what whe can do?
I'll go for a rattle/nightmare or a rattle/rattle too.

why is it useless? over 2k dps, double what my marauder does and if your dualboxing then take an ishtar with its own drones and you'll clear a site damn quick

That said when it comes to carrier. Go gallente or go home. Thanatos for pve. Archon for pvp. Chimmy for shield triage. Niddy for kek

Wouldn't suggest it. Stick with an ishtar for ratting.

no its not, ishtar takes forever and just inefficient compared to a carrier, just because drones will no longer warp doesnt mean the carrier is useless

Honestly, I think most of them view ratting with a carrier as "Assign fighters from the edge of a PoS shield" which means to them carrier ratting is dead because its no longer as safe.
