Need Gila Fit for high sec combat exploration

You can also use an active tank on the gila with similar values. The drones are just for some evehq tests, use something different if you like.

The active version is more uncommon, more expensive and harder to fit. The advantage is that you can speedtank the whole time with a smaller signature, but not sure if its worth it. In the end Im simply using the passive version like everyone else and save the isks.
Actually Im using a stratios as I dont like melee combat.

Go for the passive one. Its pretty cheap and you get a ship which can do (theoretically) 800dps with a 300++dps tank (lv5 skills). Practically the damage is way less but still impressive.
I dont own a tengu so I cant comment. Strat is a very good alround ship with plenty of different fitting options, for example I can do the same like the gila but with geckos. Or shoot with lazors or whatever. Gila is pretty onesided.

Aim for the Stratios especially if you wanna do highsec combat sites as T3s are mostly forbidden to enter the highsec sites (except the 4/10 but don´t quote me on that as i have no T3 atm). If you do only combat sites it is for sure possible to make a passable shield tank but if you consider a general exploration stratios (for hacking too) then you maybe want to go for armor tank.

Here's what i use and it works perfectly. Imo AB is too slow (competition is mostly on MWD so it's crucial to run sites fast and get close to overseers before someone jumps in and gets the loot first) + extra scan strenght is always good. Dps 780, tank 67ehp.

just ran a serpentis 4/10 in low-sec with a pvp fitted scythe fleet issue without a single problem. gila is way too much for high-sec sites, i would say almost any...any t1 cruiser would run high-sec sites.

a caracal would be my first choice, it will also not attract the attention that the gila will.

even more so, spend half what the gila costs on some blingy fittings and blitz high-sec sites like a boss.

then again, i just bought a stratios for my exploration highjinks. (i do mine in low and null)

There is no such thing as overkill for hisec combat sites. You want to outperform all the other explorers running around. I suggest a MWD and a warp disruptor/scram.

For lowsec I would use something cheaper, or a Stratios. Or a Tengu if you don't mind being locked out of 4/10s.
