What ships are gonna be most effective with the Entosis links?

- Something with an epic tank that doesn't need RR.
- Something that can't be jammed out and lose its lock.
- Something that doesn't suffer from the supercap time penalty.
- Something that can make use of a 250km range module.

I spy with my little eye that marauders are being given a use for sov warfare.

but what would I know, I'm just a salvager

- I used the Cyno as a placeholder for the new SOV module thingy.

Stats (with level 5 skills):
----- cap stable @ 35%
----- burns at ~9,000 m/sec in "Speed Mode" (~11,000 w/ mid-grade Snakes... ~13,000 m/sec with perfect Warfare Links support AND mid-grade Snakes)
----- aligns in ~14 seconds (~9 seconds with perfect Warfare Links support)
----- targets out to ~120km (~130km with perfect Warfare Links support)
----- costs less than 100 mil (excluding the Tech 2 Entroxy thingy)

- Basically... you orbit around the station/structure at about 120km... Interceptors will be hard pressed to catch you.

- You can do the same thing with the Confessor... but with more range (+20km) and cap stability (~40%) at the cost of a little bit of speed (~700 m/sec slower).

How are marauders in any way going to be efficient for this. They'll still get volleyed off the field

I guess the idea is that there are now going to be 300 flags that you need to capture and volleying 300 Marauders in half a cunthair of a second each is still going to take 150 cunthairs of a second and then you need to fly around because they probably wont all be next to each other and flying around with enough ships to volley marauders in half a cunthair of a second takes ages and might cause TiDi.

Hmm, seems like the nano T3 destroyer idea is cheaper than a Marauder.

Of course the Titan, with a supporting fleet, is a distinct possibility. Has to be a reason why there was entrenched nullsec CSM interests involved and so far not whinging about it.What?

But at least now the jump ranges and jump fatigue put some limitations on it's stellar cartographical reach. They did say when that stuff was introduced it was necessary for later sov changes.Blink

There will still be buffer/renter systems (those within jump range of existing and policeable sov), but hopefully it will nonetheless shrink the force projection footprints of the alliances. And if such becomes the case maybe then the whole blueberry batter coalition bullshit.

CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, [u]please[/u] give us a persisting off button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.

Because the op was suggesting always doing this totally alone? I didn't read it that way. I read it as asking what ship would be best for one's own enterovirus ship.

But then the best method will still probably be to nuke the **** from orbit with a supercap and support fleet as it always has been.

More pointing out that the "have a kitey ship go real fast" strategy is easily countered by the "have a ship with a highslot sit right next to the structure" strategy, regardless of other ships. If the attacker has more friends, more power to em. If the defender has more friends, groovey.

It was more intended as an idea for smaller fleets I guess, definitely not solo!

My thought process was pretty much as it stands in the OP

- you want EWAR immunity to prevent simple ECM/damps from causing issues otherwise someone could just warp a kitsune in every few minutes and break your first cycle before it completes
- you want a decent self tank because you can't receive RR


So my first thought was actually using supers but then reread the blog and noticed they'd preempted that with a time penalty for using the modules on capitals...

...and so "Marauders"

Well, the point of the new system is that it's supposed to be easy to grab uncontested systems. Try doing this in an occupied system and see how that works out for you.
