Hi Capsuleers,

I was wandering ...
why a dedicated mining vessel like the Orca (what is a industrial ship)

does not have his own special Orca strip miner

it can do various tasks, but mining is a no go aria
it can boost
ik can ship vessels
has a huge cargo hold
can fit a lot of goody stuf ,
but a strip miner is a thing the builders never heard of

it can allready use mining drones
and when you use a strip miner on that vessel it can not give boost to others,
just one orca strip miner is that so much to ask for ??on a ore ship,

used for boosting miners
and is in general use for mining

it is a industrial ship
why not use it as a industrial ship

The Orca is not a dedicated mining vessel. It's a dedicated industrial command vessel.

Wait until medium mining drones are out then you can mine in your flying pinyata until your heart is satisfied.

Lots of things can use mining drones, a few can boost, doesn't make the Proteus a dedicated mining ship. Also it's kind of the same reason the Space Shuttle isn't actually a good idea, if you need to haul, get a hauler, if you need to simply send people into space send something smaller.

Let actual dedicated mining vessels mine.

CCP is saving you the trouble from getting ganked in a mining Orca. You should be thankful.

It's not designed to mine. It's designed to facilitate the mining of others.

Quite frankly there's no room on the ship for the systems to support a mining laser (much less a strip miner) or the processing and loading systems that would need to go with said laser. The whole ship is basically a command deck welded to a bunch of cargo holds and a spacious area to serve as a maintenance bay for other ships.

There's no room for mining lasers and strip miners.

Then use it as a fleet booster for others and charge members a portion of their ore for your services or hop into a Mining Barge and have someone else act as the commander.

The Orca is designed for large mining operations with a fleet of mining ships. It's not a ship for lone wolves to mine in.

good for you.
if people could mine in an orca decently enough it wouldn't be just you doing it, it would be done in mass and I would love for my orca which can hold about 179km3 to be able to mine like a barge. we have enough of an overflow problem with industry as there are people with many alts mining and building so much at 1 time. several people have commented on the ridiculous amount of ships and other things they can build with their alts.

more people need to have only 1 character instead of the game going by "you want to do something else, get another account"

there could be a solution

Or use one account and your first alt can boost
that more practical also

its all about the money is it...

well not for me ..
one account is enough

Everyone is paying the bills, and people that multibox pay more bills than you.

Eve is a multiplayer game, and bonuses are meant for groups of people.
Fleet bonuses are there to promote group behavior, not boost lone wolves.
You are entitled to nothing.

As you must be new; welcome to eve, I hope you enjoy your stay

Yeah its definitely not a mining vessel.

Skill train into something else, perhaps!!!

Or... sell the Orca or give it away, if you don't intend to use it for what it's actually good for Shocked

EVEBoard ...Just over 60million skill points, each skill was chosen for a reason. I closed my eyes & clicked another skill to train... "BINGO...!!!" ... "This time i got something usefull"

Oh we are, but Orca has its role, and it's doing that role very well.
No need to make it a All-in-one mining ship. All it would need is a compression array

EDIT: Oh, and isn't it also quite personal thinking to want to use a Fleet designed ship as a Solo ship?
