So I've been fooling around with exploration in a Worm and I'm just learning. But I want a goal with my skills, so which ship should I be aiming for? Preferably all-in-one, mainly combat sites.

Gila. Train drones and missiles skills. Shields for tank. Worm and gila are skill intense ships. If i were you i would start with racial ships first.

Thank you :) I've got 9m SP in missiles, so I guess I've got a good start and I can already fly the gila :) People keep talking about Cerberus, Stratios and Ishtar though? And Tengu seems to be popular?

T3s are banned from DED sites. Stratios is good for all around exploration. As for the rest depend on what you like. I don't like sentry ships myself. Boring playstyle.

ah, I see :) Would you say that Stratios is better than the Gila?

Stratios has bonus to hacking. If you lucky you may find sleepers sites in hisec.
For pure combat gila is better i think. You have good missiles skills it would be shame to not use it. Fit rlml on. There will be many frigates in hisec DEDs. Drones will eat anything bigger.

it's not banned from all of them, just 4/10 and below.

I would also say ishtar/strat are good for all-in-one exploration as they can use mids for mods and highs for probe/cloak and lows for tank/dps

Although having a mobile depot means almost any ship is viable though.

Yeah, mobile depot is new to me and it seems awesome :)

I guess that opens up alot even for low sec exploration? What ship is considered the best there? Still Ishtar/Stratios?

Ishtar is fine. Strat can struggle in the tougher combat sites. I personally find (non-Loki) T3s to work the best in low; which one depends on which rats you're dealing with.

For high sec the Gila is likely the best right now, but many are viable. I've had a surprising amount of luck with the Confessor, which is also a whole hell of a lot more fun to fly....

Nice, I can fly the Gila. Maybe I should give it a try. Know of any good fits?

This is a good fit. The only problem with Gila and exploring, it doesn't have any bonuses towards scanning and analysing.

[Gila, passive + t2]

3-x Drone Damage Amplifier II
Beta Reactor Control: Shield Power Relay I

3-x Large Shield Extender II
EM Ward Field II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
10MN Afterburner II

4-x Prototype 'Arbalest' Rapid Light Missile Launcher, Scourge Light Missile
Drone Link Augmentor II

3-x Medium Core Defense Field Purger II

Thank you! Yeah, the Strat seems to have the upper hand there, right?

Even for lowsec though? Seems high sec exploration is too competetive at the moment :)

Try Gnosis, zero skills to seat on this except spaship command which allows you to focus your training on weaponary or any other skills you are lack for exploration. And you could buy 4 Gnosis for the price of one Gila.

If you're doing it in lowsec nothing beats a T3 frankly. Stratios gets the hacking bonus and can do combat sites but the dps and tank is lacking for combat sites. Only T3s gets a hacking bonus, ease of travel (cloaky subsystem) and good combat site ability. Oh and also a scanning bonus which makes them even more efficient.

Thank you so much for all the great responses guys. I've decided to go for a Gila while in High Sec, and then move to a Tengu for low/nullsec. makes sense?

I can't seem to find any really good Gila fits that isn't 3-4 years old though. Anyone care to help me with that?

I had an expedition pop up from an anomaly in high sec, it was 3/10 ded, Gnosis not allowed.

OP, Gila fits are old because they WORK. Get it?

Astero for frig. You can even do some of the 4/10's and unrated if you're patient and have good light drone skills.

You can fit data/relic scanners, probe launcher and a decent active armor tank and have a great all-in-one fit. Always stay in motion, it will keep the incoming damage down. Your drones will draw aggro too, which you can learn to use to your advantage. I highly recommend the faction drones, they will survive so much more than t2's.

Downside is, its gonna be pricey. But if you are persistent you will pay for it in no time and be well into profit after a few nice drops.

edit: faction frig is not restricted from any sites either.

I'm able to do all lowsec and most nullsec combat sites in my armor ishtar AND scan down all combat sites in the same fit. The gila is a good choice though with your missile skills.
