Firstly ISD if this is in the wrong place please move.

Secondly lets say im in high sec with a battleship and want to smart bomb a bunch of frigates or destroyers.

Whats the rules on smart bombing on station or is there a range I need to be.

If im at war and smart bomb a war target off a station say at 100k would concord get involved if there were no other non war targets in range or celestials.

Thanks for your time

afaik you can just smartbomb anywhere

Then watch CONCORD blow you up when you do it in high-sec and hit something random like a billboard

But yeah, you could try hitting only wartargets.

Thanks for the info.

Im not sure how concord interacts. I thought that being off a station or a gate with no non wt in range its actually feesable.

Im trying to avoid the concord thing if possible Big smile

Correct me if I'm wrong. Smart bombs are indescriminate; meaning they'll hit whomever is in the circle of explosion. So, if you set one off too near (say) a station, and hit the station or station guns, or a neutral coming out of the station, then you will be afforded the CONCORDed. The same would go for near a gate, with all the cops and CONCORD NPC ships...customs, etc., and of course neutrals coming through the gate randomly in a spherical zone around the gate...hit one of those same result.

Other than that, if you only hit your war targets, no le CONCORDANCE. From what I understand, that is.

The right to free speech doesn't automatically carry with it the right to be taken seriously.

theres how to instantly grant stockpile of killrights

1 buy rokh
2. fit 8 large smartbombs all types
3. fit capacitor rechargers/power relays and capacitor rigs (u cant tank concord, anyone but smartbombs eat lot of cap, its meant for quick action)
4. go to jita 4-4 station
5. move away eoungh to activate smartbombs
6. click them all as fast as possible when theres eoungh small ships near you
7. concord willl destroy you in 6 seconds so if there are near you couple of frigates, pods they will die first
8. you will have nice killright collection on you and nice criminal status

optional you can do it in hek or rens where concord response is longer delay so you can hit more targets.

as for the op. shooting wardec targets with smartbombs is very hard if they are sitting stations. you can dream if war target goes to mission and he runs it , you can come and smartbomb him without concord as theres no neutral enviroment in mission sites so evrything can be smartbobmed. in fact, why. smartbombs in highsec are very useless

they work great in lowsec/nullsec and wormhole .

trying to be serious here Cool

We have security switches. I believe i have seen smartbombing which does no damage to anything around. I believe it was because of green SS. It would be good to check if this is correct or not.

Other than that i believe there is minimal distance to gates and stations of 5000m where you cannot activate your smartbomb.

Smartbombing in highsec generally ends up in disaster and hilarity.
Usually both
Both is good

Some of my old opponents thought it was a good idea to try smartbombing in my vicinity.
My alt/alt's drones soon flew into range of said bombs.

Ok

So lets just say I see a WT that is sat 150k off a station.

He has nothing around him within the smartbombs range at all within 50km.

If I activate the smartbomb killing him and podding him outright will concord F me up?.

From whats being said above the answer is no???????????

You are correct. CONCORD will not attack you in this instance. But in reality AFK cloakers are everywhere. Just all around you.

There's one behind you right now.

Short answer: No, you should be fine to hit the WT with your smartbombs without getting CONCORDED.

Smartbombs cause aggression only if you do damage to someone, not by simply turning them on.

Note: You will need to put your safety off to use smartbombs in high sec. IIRC you cannot use smartbombs in hi-sec with safety on orange like you could another weapon.

On the assumption you are actually going to go ahead and try this, watch out for;

- Wrecks (except white ones I think)
- Cans (except white ones I think)
- Gates, notice boards, stations
- Non-red NPCs
- Mobile deployables

If you accidentally tag one of those then CONCORD will come after you, and they'll be bringing an ass-kicking with them.

Or something. Even if those are for example objects that are not destroyable under normal game conditions. If an activated smartbomb in High Sec has a non valid target present within it's radius of effect, CONCORD joins the party.
A similar thing occurs when using ECM burst modules in High Sec.

So effectively you would have to lure your war target out into open empty space as far away from anything and anyone for it to be a viable tactic. That is off course unless your tactic involves losing your ship to CONCORD.

The idea came from rooks and kings clarion call 4 but when I saw chars do this in high sec all I saw was them getting concorded.

But then I read you can in high sec but just wanted to clarify the ranges. If it works it will be hilarious and I have frapps ready to post.

Thanks all and ISD Big smile

rooks and kings method is different, they use a drag bubble to drag the targets to them into a close perimeter then cyno in and activate bombs and cause glorious fires, nullsec tactics wont work in highsec so wont be near as efficient especially as rooks and kings actually use quite a few battleships to cause the damage

Oh Yes Lan your right on that point. Mine will be different of course. RnK obviously had more, to do a massive of amount of damage no matter what came. Im trying not the same tactic but the idea of smashing a bunch of small ships in one go as where RnK were smashing much large and higher EHP in one go.

I tried to get into my head the fastest way of destroying a large fleet of small ships in the quickest possible time before I die. Thus after going through numerous ideas I came across the RnK one which I had to clarify the options of doing this in high sec.

They seem to have the concept of most chars but one thing came to mind was like in AT5 I think when the BoB rax fleet just mwd as fast as they can to get in close and full dps chars off the field at close range. They didnt mind loosing one on the way as they still had a huge amount of dps. This is pretty much the same with the time of me locking them and potentially killing 1, maybe 2. By that time they will be in optimal and fire like mad idiots.

If they do that again I can just let off all the bombs Big smile

you can not activate smartbombs, unless your safety is set to red, even in lowsec

The way smart bombs work in hs is like this - (1) go to a hub with disco bs, (2) get significantly off station, (3) announce in local that you are giving all your stuff away b/c you quitting eve, (4) jettison lots of cheap stuff e.g. t2 mods, crappy deadspace items, whatever, (5) wait till a large crowd of nubs form around you, (6) start disco party and enjoy.

I don't play, I just fourm warrior.
