It's probably been mentioned before but I think we defenatly need a bigger skill set . At the moment PI is something you can play with for a month and then thats it. All your planets are setup and the your skills are in good order. Couple of indy trips here and there and it's all over basically.

So here are my ideas for possible skills


Mining effiency - 5-10% extra extraction per level
Processing effiency - 5-10% increase in production output, no increase in materials needed.
Industrial efficeny - smaller magnitude bonus for both
Waste managment - smaller bonus for both

Power station ops- 5-10% bonus to PG per level
Supercomputer ops- bonus to CPU

Creative accounting -1% tax rate


Possible advanced skills. v.long training times-


Advnced Command centre ops - A further 5 levels of CC upgrade perhaps only half as effective as the first 5 and proggresivley more expensive, or perhps the oppurtunity to land a second CC on a planet.

Advanced Interplanetery Consolidiation - The possibility for another 5 planets


This would give the PI bears something to work towards and some decisions to be made.


Drawbacks- you would have to be careful the accumilation of these bonuses doesn't happen too quickly or PI production would rocket.

Would be interested to know what people think of this.

I think it has a lot of potential as an easy to implement development of a feature that is somewhat lacking ATM.

PI was the main advertised change that made me think I'd give EVE another shot when I got the chance of a cheap resub.

I think PI could be a real selling point for EVE (especially for the RTS browser game crowd) and would love to see it developed into something as envisaged in the PI V2 document.

I think PI is another chance to develop something unique in the gaming world, something CCP have done so well with in EVE.

PI also screams out for attention because of the fact it's supposed to be the linking factor between EVE and DUST.

'Building' games are a large market that hasn't really been tapped as far as MMO's goe. The one thing I can think of that seems loosley related (though I don't really know much about the game) is minecraft and look how popular that is.

This is all 'carebear' nonsense you might be thinking, well not necessarily. We are only at the 'birth' of PI, should it become more popular then the sort of tension created over crowded planets is exactly the sort of thing that would create the conflict CCP have had so much succses basing there game on .
