I have a background working in NOCs. OC-3072 has been defined since the late 90s but AFAIK no-one has actually manufactured one. So it's an in-joke for the new guys that "there's been an OC-3072 fiber cut" or whatnot, as they would have learned about it in getting their certifications but not actually been taught that nobody has laid one.
