t3 unable to undock

When I first started playing back in early '08, I was told every time an expansion came out, to dock up, set a week long skill, eject from my ship, update my clone, and pray to whatever infernal gods I believed in. I had every reason to believe that this near universal sentiment at the time was based on actual firsthand experience with all manner of foul deeds that would be visited upon subscribers when an expansion was released.

Now an expansion comes out
, and I can play it the same day, with or without bugs, my ship does not explode because of role changes applied to it, the server is not dead for days, I can actually undock and have a reasonable expectation that the game environment is still out there waiting for me to interact with it, etc.

Somehow the term selective memory should suffice here I think. It is easy to claim things are at their worst if you have no recollection of them in the past. Just like that first person you fall in love with, everything they do must either be the worst or best that anyone has ever done to another person. Sorry guys, but your EVE mistress is actually improving over time compared to past events. When was the last time your hard drive got wiped by a patch?

Ya know, instead of being reasonable like the OP and taking every practical action you could ingame and then petitioning the problem, patiently waiting, and being satisfied when the issue is resolved, you instead do what, stomp your feet, throw a big fit, and cancel all your subs?

When did EVE Online become a nursery? Seriously?

I didn't get that one, but I did get another thing where it's quite apparent that some subsystem bonuses (but not all, just to make matters confusing) are not being applied. The weapons did the right damage, the speed boost was correct, the targeting range was correct… but the shield boost was much lower than it should be, as was the cap regen.

Don't know if it's the old “skills not applying” bug making a (re)appearance, or if it has something to do with what the OP is experiencing.

Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs.

Unplayable, the state of being unable to play.

Truth?

So, you cannot logon to the game?

I think this lad is a lot more broken than the game. Quite probably, when he was a kid, he would throw a tantrum at his parents when one of his matchbox cars had a squeaky wheel, demanding that it had never happened in the first place and resolutely stating that is was no longer suitable for him to play with.

We now get to blame the parents as they apparently replaced said matchbox car immediately, leading him to believe this is the expectable response to a tantrum.
All this while a simple smack upside the head would have saved all of us a world of grief right now on these forums. Roll

ROFL, too true Lol

I like that analogy because it reminds me of when I was a kid.

The matchbox cars with the most scratches and battle wounds were the coolest because they were tough!

The wear and tear had to be good tho, long as the little windshields didn't pop out, and the wheels didn't go all stringy on you, and it drove around, it was the coolest if it had paint chips missing, dirt and mud caked on it, and looked like a real car that had been riding around on trails and whatnot.

Only the sissy kids wanted their car to be perfectly clean and shiny new, what use it that? Matchbox cars are not for beauty pageants when you're a kid! They're for smashing against one another and launching off ramps to see how far they fly without busting!

U both Mad Fanboys?

I can load the game (although I am sure some are having trouble doing even this).

I can't use the Map though locks my PC up every few secs. There are also a lot of other issues that are spoiling the enjoyment and preventing players from playing the game as it was intended to be played, if not why are there posts about workarounds?

Go check out the Issues and Workarounds area of the forum. Blink

That forum section has been lively since the day the game launched and not nearly as many people as you would think have all those issues. Neither will it ever be quiet, nor will any change in frequency (within reason) ever indicate that things are getting vastly better or worse for the general subscriber base as a whole.

And I am hardly a fanboy, I was pretty disgruntled with CCP over Dominion and I still am, but this is the only sci-fi game of its kind out there right now, so I am still grateful that the wheels keep turning on the server everyday so I can feed the need.

Where else are you going to go?

I used to love this game but I just can't in it's current state. I even find it difficult to bring myself to sign in these days. I quit during the NeX fiasco but a freind who I actually invited to the game via a buddy invite back in March convinced me to play again. I thought I would miss the game big time when I quit but really I found I didn't (I was quite happy playing my FPS). I had all but forgotten Eve until my friend started bugging me to play again. So where will I go? Probably back to playing my FPS.

I think Eve is one of those games that while you are playing it you think you will miss it should you stop but having broke the habbit you soon move on and forget. I will play out my sub and if after that things have not improved I will take a break. I say break as I never say never if things improve in the meantime or if they improve at a later date there is little doubt that I would continue to play or return, like I said I used to love this game.

Mr. Bloke here hit a pretty rare one, only hit about 200 times since introduced in 1.1. Stripping the fitting via the "Strip" button in the fitting window or the right-click option "Strip Fitting" clears it out right proper.

As always, we'll get this fixed up properly ASAP.

Well, then you are making wise choices based on your own sense of entertainment value, i.e. you are not having fun so you look elsewhere for it.

But, as far as claiming the game is unplayable, that is your opinion of course, you are entitled to it, but some of us strongly disagree with that opinion.

P

Does not mean the opinion does not have a kernel of truth to it like anything else, but like most things, when taken to the extreme, it falls apart under its own weight.

Are aspects of the game not conducive to entertainment and playability? Of course, I could name a dozen major areas of the game that need some serious work to bring the fun back.

Are aspects of the game such that the entire game has run afoul and should be scrapped entirely? Hardly.

There are far worse things in the world than a game with flaws, long as I can logon and shoot other pilots, it's alright by me. Doesn't mean I have to like it, but I make my own fun anyways, so long as the wheels don't fall off, I hope to keep doing my thing.

ok this is the message i get while trying to undock my t3

15:38:37 Notify Your modules are incorrectly fitted. Possibly your slot layout has changed and a module is in a slot that is no longer valid. Try unfitting your modules and fit them again.

my mods are fitted correctly, my slot layout hasnt changed, and ive tried unfitting and re-fitting..

im assuming the patch has screwed it all up again...well done yet again

is anyone else having this issue?

It could be that your subsystems skills aren't applying. Try reloading a saved t3 fit and see what happens. Dont be surprised if you see something like this.

I've had issues with these ships in the past and had one returned twice.

Whatever you do if you do manage to get it out and it happens to pop (and it will very, very quickly), so don't blink and don't eject!! You will only lose sub skill points when you re-log. Blink

I don't blame you.

CCP has internal problems with version control, proper quality assurance or both which has historically produced game-breaking bugs with each patch. End of the world? No. But all of these paper cuts add up...

just as an update, it seems that every time i re-dock it reverts back to its broken state... then i have to strip fittings, undock, re dock and fit ship again and prey my sub systems dont dissapear for too long, like they did earlier and almost gave me a heart stoppage.

for now i will just leave my precious baby docked till a fix is sorted....(

once again thanks for the responses

Best of luck Bloke, keep us updated! I have a few T3 myself so... hopefully when I get back to them, I do not run into this problem myself.

Don't feel too bad tho, this stuff is not EVE exclusive, I had a buddy in Warcraft whose interface elements decided to stop working one day, and it took Blizzard three weeks to figure out what had gone wrong, even after he did a complete uninstall/reinstall, etc.
