1000% support for a Leonard Nimoy tribute. Some sort of ship, some sort of monument, anything. Something legendary for a legendary man, of course.

I am 100% for honoring Nimoy. Does not matter so much how it is done but that it IS done. How about a science ship after him? :)

I support this idea. While using his likeness or any reference to star trek is opening a can of worms regarding copyright. Some sort of memorial for a good human being is an outstanding idea.

I support the idea of a Tribute.

Mr Spock, Leonard Nimoy , was not only a legend but also a big part of childhood/adventures of all Sci-Fi lovers and dreamers.

At some point we can consider that Star Trek is also for something in the existence of a game like Eve Online.

Check the NASA website, even our Astronauts on our small planet Earth mourn the death of this symbol

A Star or a System to honour his name would be very much appropriate

o7 and LLAP

I think what they said at NASA pretty much sums up what Leonard Nimoy was to 2 generations of nerds. Lol

Quote:
NASA is mourning the passing of actor Leonard Nimoy, most famous for his role as Star Trek's Vulcan science officer Mr. Spock. The sci-fi classic served as an inspiration for many at NASA over the years, and Nimoy joined other cast members at special NASA events and worked to promote NASA missions, as in this 2007 video he narrated before the launch of the Dawn mission to the asteroid belt. Nimoy also was there for the 1976 rollout of the shuttle Enterprise, named for the show's iconic spacecraft.

NASA Administrator Charles Bolden issued the following statement upon hearing of Nimoy's passing: “Leonard Nimoy was an inspiration to multiple generations of engineers, scientists, astronauts, and other space explorers. As Mr. Spock, he made science and technology important to the story, while never failing to show, by example, that it is the people around us who matter most. NASA was fortunate to have him as a friend and a colleague. He was much more than the Science Officer for the USS Enterprise. Leonard was a talented actor, director, philanthropist, and a gracious man dedicated to art in many forms. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and the legions of Star Trek fans around the world.”

+1 for shuttle, or science ship

Or a memorial orbiting the sun in a high-sec system? This could be the first of such memorials for RL people of note, in the sci-fi genre and RL space sciences, who helped to inspire stuff like EVE Online. Players can go visit and set off fireworks.

I think Goons can have Shatner and Wheaton, I won't even argue about them having two names in their region. Twisted

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Supported - a T3 destroyer or a star system both sound fitting.

That being said - the Gallente Federation most closely mirrors the Federation of Planets in egalitarianism and ethos, not so much the corporate culture of the Caldari State.
