I like the idea of the Nimoy system coming into being. Smile

So many good ideas.
Naming a shuttle after him would I think be more appropriate than a T3 destroyer and CCP does not even have to do the design work. All they have to do is get permissions to make it look exactly like the shuttles from the original Star Trek series.

"The United Federation of Planets (abbreviated as UFP and commonly referred to as the Federation) was an interstellar federal republic, composed of planetary governments that agreed to exist semi-autonomously under a single central government based on the principles of universal liberty, rights, and equality, and to share their knowledge and resources in peaceful cooperation and space exploration."
As we contemplate as individuals how we would honor a man that we all admired I would humbly propose this.
That each of us do all that we can to bring this vision for peaceful cooperation of all people on earth into being and that we do it in his honor.

Given His legacy is so closely connected to Star Trek, and the concept of the show was united space exploration, a new exploration ship with United bonuses for all the races (Nothing OP, maybe 2% per frigate level per race i.e. Cali 2% shield over base per frigate level, Gal would be hull, Minnie would be speed, and Amarr would be armor)

Eitherway, may he rest in peace o7

I doubt they can do anything that direct, as their IP is already licensed to other game studios.

Problem with using a ST Design, is they protect their IP.. I'm not sure CCP could get permission make one look like anything from the ST Universe.

Also, I'll toss one out here.. There's 1 named planet in WH Space. I say name another, call it Vulcan.

Yes, if CCP could get permission to do this or similar it would be grand. A nice memorial of a Man who inspired so many and I bet inspired quite a few here in this game as well. It is the hope of some Players that one day in this game we can take our characters to the surface of a planet and a Planet renamed and finished out as a tribute would be appropriate (as well as so many other good ideas presented).

RIP Leonard Nimoy and thank you Sir.

A Dinosaur on a Spaceship. Imagine that... wait... don't. It's not pretty. (forum alt alert)

Were it up to me, I would have it be the shuttle, and have it purchasable for one PLEX.
No special abilities, but insurance would replace the shuttle in perpetuity should it ever be lost.
The PLEX's cash value, in turn to have a meaningful portion donated to whichever charity Nimoy favored in his life.

like a PLEX for Good type deal? Maybe fight COPD which is what took him from us, whatever foundations fight that

Or N1-MOY heh.

I've never really been into startrek but it would be a shame not to have some kind of memorial to someone and a character who directly or indirectly has inspired so many peoples interest in this kind of thing (space, etc.) I suspect he is partly the reason a good number are playing this game.

Monument would be great, (not a ship though.) A wreck or a station somewhere would be great.

I'd say make an 'Ambassador' class shuttle. Diplomatic immunity. Can't be fired upon by empire faction navies.

While I am an admirer of Mr. Nimoy's work, I find his contribution to the world of sci-fi to be a bit lacking when compared to others. I would be supportive of a Nimoy memorial after we have a memorial to Azimov, Clarke, and about a dozen others who were the ones to define the genre.

I support the idea of a Tribute.

Mr Spock, Leonard Nimoy , was not only a legend but also a big part of childhood/adventures of all Sci-Fi lovers and dreamers.

At some point we can consider that Star Trek is also for something in the existence of a game like Eve Online.

Check the NASA website, even our Astronauts on our small planet Earth mourn the death of this symbol
http://www.nasa.gov/content/nasa-remembers-leonard-nimoy/index.html

A Star or a System to honour his name would be very much appropriate

Who cares, people die every day.

The guy was 83 or so, it was time for him to go. Sure, if he was 30 and died tragically it would be different but he was old and no one lives forever, so I don't understand all this sadness.
