This thread is for getting the install files onto your hard drive. Tau Calabander is running a torrent of the latest version here.

Try these methods:

Method 1 Normal Installer file found here:
http://community.eveonline.com/support/download/

Method 2 Just the launcher. Version is listed here:
http://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt

location is listed at the beginning of the version txt, looks like:

http://cdn1.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/beta/EVEOnlineLauncher_2_2_884420.exe

To make it a clickable link, paste the url of the exe into a reply to this thread and use "Preview" or "Post." example

Method 3 The offline install files. Version is listed here:
http://client.eveonline.com/patches/premium_patchinfoTQ_inc.txt

located here: http://community.eveonline.com/support/download/offline-installer/

To make direct links to old versions, alter the offline file links to the old build version in these two bolded numbers:
content.eveonline.com/877986/EVE_Online_Installer_Full_877986.msi

To check if it's a browser port issue:

Go to proxysite.com and navigate to http://community.eveonline.com/support/download/ or http://community.eveonline.com/support/download/offline-installer/ to see if you can get the links that way.

Do not click the links in the proxysite.com browser, however. That will cause your downloads to be very slow as they will be handled by the proxy server. Copy the urls and post them in a reply to this thread using the Preview button (next to the Post button) to create hotlinks like this.

Another possible fix is running everything in administrator mode.

Windows has fits if non-administrator rights programs attempt to write to the Program Files directory.

You can solve this by:
Installing and running EVE as administrator
Installing EVE outside of C:\Program Files (such as C:\EVE\)

Note: changing the install directory will create a new settings folder. You can copy your settings over to the new folder (created after moving your install) by navigating to:

C:\Users\[Windows Login Name]\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\

the AppData\ folder is normally hidden, and you will need to enable "view hidden folders and files" in your Windows Explorer settings.
