Cherry picking mission

Hi o/

I did a quick google search and find some info about it, but i'm still lacking THE info i'm looking for.

I never did cherry picking before, but it seems to be something a lot of players are doing for maximaxing their isk/hour ratio. I have 4 alts and they all have a pretty good standing with most of their agents (9.7-9.9), so i can decline some missions if i want to.

The info i'm looking for and couldn't find on the forum or using google, is how much missions can i decline before my agents stop giving me the best missions? What's the minimum standing needed before an agent stop giving me his best missions like blockade or ennemies abound? And how much declining a mission hurts? Can i decline 3 missions in a row, do 4-5 of them, decline again 2-3 missions without hurting my standing too much? And last question, does every missions have the same impact when declining them? For exemple, if i decline both recon 1 and blockade, does the standing hit is the same?

Thank! Big smile

Missions given are random, standings do not effect the pool of available missions.

TL;DR: You want a faction standing of at least 5.0 with the faction you're running missions for.

A character can decline 1 mission every 4 hours from an agent without loss of standing, note I said per agent and that is important. As an example let's say you are running missions for Space Land Patrol and your agent gives you a mission you decline. If you move immediately to another Space Lane Patrol agent and they give you a mission you do not want you can decline that as well and you will not suffer a standing penalty for doing so. That is why many mission runners ork in an area where they have multiple agents for the same NPC, or multiple NPC that they want to work on standings for.

For each mission you decline that causes a standings loss you will need to run 3-4 and possibly more to regain that lost standing.

I have heard but cannot confirm that the standings loss gets larger with each subsequent mission that you decline from the same agent in that 4 hour window.

As others have said, and from my own personal experience, your standing doesn't appear to influence the missions you are offered.

If you have good faction standing, you can decline missions until your agent standing is at -2, which is when they will stop offering you missions full stop. Normally when blitzing, I will be declining 4-5 missions for every one I accept, just make sure you do all the storyline ones since these influence your agent/corp/faction standing get massively.

Running ALL of any kind of missions leads to standings troubles, this can and has caused many players to fall to -5 standing towards one of more of the 4 mjor factions so caution is advised with this.

See the standings section of this link for why I question this.

For missions you standing towards the NPC and the agent is all that matters, faction standings are to a large degree irrelevant. One needs to have +5.0 or above standing to the NPC corp to get level 4 missions and once your standing to that NPC has dropped below that you will no longer be able to get level 4 missions from any agent in that NPC. Given all of this It is hard to believe that you turn down 4-5 missions in a 4 hour period and are still able to maintain lvl 4 standing. Unless you are using multiple agents for the same NPC, or you are running for multiple NPC in thte same area.

Look how much faction standing you loose for declining a mission, don't have values on hand but a few years ago I got around 40 missions between each storyline continously, did 16 and declined the rest and my faction standing still went up. This was back in the days when you needed +7 to access L4s and running missions for 1 agent only.
