We don't ask Provi why it does what it does. Were all better off not knowing.

I suspect that he jumped in, expecting others to quickly follow and he would try land repairs on those procurers. Then when they saw the numbers, others decided to make a few sacrifices and not throw away more kills.

Lesson to be learned or reminded of is mine with enough drones to pop bombers.

However, this is some good proof that their hot dropper can sit AFK perfectly safe until easy targets are available, due to bad piloting or a bad time zone.

In pretty much any other game, there would be a way to hunt down that cloaker so he can not be AFK.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Alternate, more likely scenario osprey saw reds in local Insert miner tears and oh ***** in alliance and intel channels, osprey undocked to help expecting more to follow, the rest of provi utilized advanced docking up V to thier advantage then talked massive smack in local as if they did something...tell repsol i said hi

also the miners flying with implants are bad, really bad, better yet just dont fly with implants unless they are absolutley needed.

How did I know this would turn into and AFK cloaking thread. Roll

Read provi Intel channels. Everyone a hotdropper, and as we all know, you can't hotdrop unless you are cloaked and AFK.

Jen posted it with her alt so she could start a not so stealth AFK cloaking thread to push her agenda. Typical move of a politician.

The point of this is why did the Osprey have such a expensive pod?

Tell me from the perspective of those invaded how they know when he is AFK or not and how to remove him from the system when he is sitting on an off grid bookmark cloaked all day.

There is only Chiroptera and Impetus. "Ryan Farmern" is not a worthy Latin name. Ugh

From the perspective of those invaded, they just shouldn't care.

The worst that can happen, even if he isn't AFK is they lose ships to a hotdrop. So what? They are just ships and loss isn't something to be afraid of.

There are ways to manage that risk.

PVE in sigs only, spread out their mining activities so ships aren't close together, use vanilla pods, have pvp ships on hand to switch into quickly, etc., etc., etc.

Cloaky campers are an opportunity for fun, not a reason to be scared.

Ignore him and just manage the risk while going about normal activities.

I get what you're saying with the rest of your post, but your statement here seems to say "don't mine anything lucrative". This is especially pertinent in WH where the presence of a cloaky camper would not necessarily be known.

There is a whole should mining sites be sigs discussion we probably shouldn't get into here.

Yeah my bad. I could have explained that more. These weren't an extensive and complete list of options, just some random strategies.

The easiest of the lot is to move a system over. If the camper is AFK, they aren't going to follow. If they are active, then gates provide a perfect point to send them back to a fresh clone.

But I actually agree that asteroid belts as signatures, especially in nullsec is not a bad idea.
