It's the 22nd UTC... Again confusing choice of time in my opinion as it pertains to account and RL.

I had no trouble getting my implant, in fact I did that days ago, but I never saw ANYTHING, ANYWHERE about logging into account management for a gift, and I'm online daily. Frankly I feel a bit cheated because no one felt it prudent to notify us (or me at least) prior to removing access to it. Even 48 hours notice would have been a great help (I was logged on last night and didn't see anything about this then either). Heck, for that matter, an email would have been nice.

extremely difficult doing 3s with Noctis cleanup

Oh you poor dear.

Having to struggle by using a roughly $65 million asset to salvage *very* fast.

'Back in the day' we had to get by just using salvaging fit Destroyers.

You're using a Noctis. Count your blessings.

And, if you're doing L3's for ISK, I doubt you'll be paying many accounts with PLEX any time soon.

My lady also missed selecting hers by about 40 minutes. Putting a time frame on it was kind of lame, considering that they could just have done it like all other giveaway's: if you're subbed as of X date/time then you get to redeem the gift. Why the short time frame CCP?

Yes. I also did not realize that the remap/ other gifts were in Account Management until it was too late.

Please extend it.

And yet, all the times in your account management interface is in UTC, isn't it? All in-game times are in UTC. So why would this be any different?

I agree with the idea of an extention because apparently the player base have difficulties with basic time calculation and punctuality; but honestly?

You couldn't have done it before now?

Yes please extend it for me as well.

The reason why it is misleading is twofold.

One is as others have mentioned, due to people living in different timezones they get confused.
Two is that on the logon screen, it says that we have a last chance to redeem items and get a holiday gift. But we clearly don't!

I didn't know there was a time limit.

If it's possible without a huge amount of trouble CCP is usually pretty good about these things.

That being said, everything EVE related runs off the same clock. It's on every post, on the in game clock... pretty much everywhere.

I'm having a little trouble being sympathetic.

If they go to the trouble of giving you a selection of gifts to choose from, the least you could do it pick it up before the deadline.

Edit: Inappropriate part removed, CCP Phantom.

Also, I understand that Eve Time is UTC.

BTW, I do think CCP did several sub-optimal things regarding this. However, see the famous/canonical "Eve Learning Curve" cartoon. It is a dark and cold place to live. And, no one loves you.

Let me state it again. Game UTC makes scene to coordinate in game events.

This is an account related thing and for most it ended up ending well before most could get home from work. UTC does NOT make sense in this case.

Its a bit of a small issue but downtime would have made FAR FAR FAR more sense in my opinion.

BTW to the folks who think its funny to post TOS violating crap towards those requesting something that has nothing to do with you or how you play the game be aware that there is a flag above your post that is used to report such to the moderation team.

This an honest request topic about an issue that in my opinion needs attention.

And, while you're at it, let me select and receive another item.

After all, if some get a second chance due to their stupidity, I should get a reward for being intelligent enough to play this game, notice what needs to be done, and taking action within the identified time period to achieve results.

Also, I understand that Eve Time is UTC.

The problem here is that you consider getting or missing holiday gifts a sign of intelligence. Talk about lowering standards.

This is simply a matter of oversight or laziness. Some players don't feel like redeeming their items or checking the account management page. Some people like me don't even know that there is a time limit on these things. That doesn't mean they are any better or less good at playing the game.

And not sure how this affects the "really intelligent" people who already got the gifts, or why they are so vehement in denying people the gifts that they missed out on. Letting others still get their gifts is in line with the holiday spirit.

Gosh! That made me pay attention!

I actually went back and re-read all two pages of this thread. I must have a reading comprehension problem because I didn't see that alleged TOS violation.

Or, surely, you're not upset because in Eve nobody loves you?

I actually agree with this.

But then again, we're discussing Eve Online. Not what makes sense.

I was on an EVE break when Quafe Zero was released. I demand CCP extend the redeem time so I get mine. I'm only a little late.

Do you mind not turning this topic into a joke?

#1 I am not demanding anything. I am requesting and stating my reasons why I think an extension is fair in this situation.

#2 Quafe Zero and a Neural Remap are two completely different things. Losing that bonus remap will hit me hard in the 2nd half of 2012. Losing some ammo or fuel or consumables is no issue compared to the value of a remap at the right time.

Perhaps it's not on every post?

From where I am sitting it's still the 21st, yet I cant get my gift? Where did they say UTC?

Also, why did I only see, and am continuing to see the reminder in the launcher AFTER the 'offer' had expired?

It's still the 21st..... where's my gift??
