Wouldn't it be better if instead of having the coalition in name have it officially recognized and made up of the alliances.

Hearing people call for this almost makes me physically angry...

We already have "Coalitions", they're called Alliances.

It's just Blueception from you people... "we want officially recognized alliances of alliances, and then alliances of alliances of alliances, and then we'll need alliances of coalitions of alliances."

We all know what Coalitions are.
However the point people are making is that they don't need to be recognised. People can do everything inside a single alliance if they actually want to work together. The CFC would fit into 2 corps after all at the numbers I last heard quoted for their membership. Maybe 4 or 5 if they've grown a lot.
'Coalitions' exist because people don't want to have to work together in terms of directors and structure but still want all the protection those structures bring and all the blue buddies. And encouraging that is not a good way forward.

With changes to Sov, and improved Corp & alliance controls, people should be able to compress down into smaller numbers of larger corps and use alliances the way they were meant to be, rather than a million 1 man + 10 alt corps making up the alliances.

People have been wanting changes to halt the spread of super blobs comprised of multiple alliances conforming into coalitions, and even the spread of multiple coalitions forming together for large ops.

Anything that helps legitimize coalitions of coalition is something to be purged with fire.

On that note, early next week CCP will be announcing their plans for a sov rework, commonly anticipated to break the functionality of supercoalitions through changes in how sovereignty works. So if we are lucky, this thread will become entirely redundant as supercoalitions will begin to crumble.

The devblog pertaining to the changes is apparently around 7,700 words long according to CCP, so it's bound not be be some tiny change to Sov structure HP or something else insignificant.

You can form coalitions ad infinitum like some sort of fractal. Doing this sort of crap will only further stagnation as it becomes more of a challenge for small entities to compete.

With coming changes this sort of stupidity will hopefully be obsolete.
