Cost studies, revenue rates, et cetera. Welcome to hyper capitalism.

There is such thing as "capping" your net, it slows it down but makes it more stable if anyone wants that. Also, with ADSL lines you can request that you sacrifice some down speed for some up speed. This helps if you upload a lot of images video, chat on video and voice while playing.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

EDIT : 99% uptime 40 bucks a month.

I used to log in over 5 EVE Clients and run them simultaneously, multi-clients on the same one box.
I could have used multiple box on top, adding the same cost as the one box cost, incrementally.
I never tried it yet. One place offered me to do it for the same price as for one box depending if there was no-one else using it.

I can now barely use 1 or 2 client, and the 1 m/s ping is not continual, that rate is the best case scenario.
More often than not, the systems, stalls, the cursor stalls, and there is 3 seconds to 7 seconds of interruption.
More than enough to die. I hunt pirates for a living and gather intelligence on pirate activities, like in the pirate thread.

20 down / 3 up. Had 3 down /.5 up DSL before so can't complain.

Friend of mine is getting fiber soon and will have like 100 down / 100 up. So, I'm very jelly at the moment...

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

While I'm downloading the game I notice that I have a practical speed of about 1GB per hour.
at 40% I still have a couple of hours to go and I'm wondering how fast other connections are in other countries.
so, how fast is your (practical) connection? or in other words, how long would it take you to download eve(about 6GB) ?

thanks :-)

When my connection work as intended (99% of the time) I'm at 80/80Mbit/s, so that's 10MB/s, 6GB would take me 10.24 minutes provided the server could service that 10MB/s. (assuming the old standard of 1024MB = 1GB)

I live in Denmark, got fiber connection.

used to play 7 accounts on this connection ... net wise prolly could handle couple more but rig prolly wont ...

I have a spanish pitiful ISP

8.09Mbps download
0.50Mbps upload

That's like 1mb/s download at maximum
And 100 kb/s upload at maximum

Sad

Although reading this thread I'm not the worst, at least... Shocked

I still got old potatoe copper wiring here but they get the job done downloading at 198 Mbps. They are now talking some stuff about converting over to viber, there will not really be a difference in speed I was told, only in price and you have one guess in what direction that will go.

Full 100M all the ways.

All hail the FInnish internet gods too, even though they are not quite as glorious as the Icelandic internet gods.

Suck to be anyone who lives in a country with no competition on cable business and/or ridiculous usage caps. One would imagine that americans for example would want free markets for internet connections, but not all stereotypes work it seems.

I've got a 120/12 connection, but i generally only get 30/10.

Beats however where I used to live which gave me less than 56k dial up speeds during the evening. Seriously, I was getting something like 28.8 at most.
