Why are all my standings negatives ?

Hello !

I've recently tried to join a Factional Warfare but I couldn't because my standing were negative with the Faction I tried to fight for.. This Faction was Minmatar, so that surprised me since I'm Minmatar myself.

I checked my Standings in the Character Sheet and here's what I have :

So.... It looks like I'm negative with almost every single Faction of the game, I don't get it; I've been doing missions for only Minmatar/Gallente since I created this character, that makes no sense to me.

Can someone help me ? What am I missing ?

Right click on a faction and pick show transactions. This should give you some insight where the penalties are coming from.

This topic will probably be moved to the missions and complexes sub forum https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=248

You are not negative with almost every single faction. You are negative (before skills) with gallente and minmatar. If you are running missions for those, the only way to get the standings you have is to turn down missions more than 1 every 4 hours.

Also, to join Faction warfare on your own you need to be +5 with a faction, not just positive to them. People get around that by joining a corporation already in faction warfare. hnere is a pretty ok page about missions and standings. http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Missions#Standings

It says "No transactions available", even with the filter on "All".

I see, so maybe I did turned down too many missions then.

I've been visiting a lot of "Storyline" agents and they all said that they don't work with people they can't trust.
What's the best way to recover that standing then? I'm not only interested into FW, I want to be in good standing with them Oops

You maybe declined storyline missions?

YOU don't go to a Storyline Agent, they contact YOU when you have done enough missions (I believe it's 10 normal missions for a corp)..

You take a hit if you turn down missions twice in 2hrs. Or fail missions. You take rather big hits if you kill their ships.. Or do missions against them.

For you, first, I'd look in to doing the datacenter agent missions. Getting a nice frig and doing a bunch of lvl1's to get some storylines would help. You can also do the Sisters of Eve epic arc every 3 months, and pick a faction to apply the last boost too (when you get to chose between the 4 agents, one for each empire)..

^ That's your friend.

In the future, remember, decline anti-faction missions. Do missions for opposing factions. (For example, I fly Caldari Navy, AND Fed Navy). Don't decline 2 missions in a row. And there are other pieces of good info in that wiki link.

SOE epic arc gives a huge standings boost to one faction at the end of it, this standing boost can be gained in fleet even, so you can use a recyclable alt to run it again immediately, or just sit in Arnon and offer assistance to people to help them through in return for standings.

You have 4.21 standing with Spacelane patrol.

Spacelane Patrol is Caldari.

Caldari missions sometimes make you shoot at Minmatar and Gallente "rats"

Shooting those types of rats will lower your faction standings with them.

Don't shoot anything that belongs to a faction that you want to improve.

EDIT:
Also, this old cross reference sheet might come in handy: https://kapikulu.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/eve-faction-standings3.jpg

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

I can't understand where that standing with Spacelane Patrol comes from. I've always quested with Minmatar/Gallente and even worse, my standing with the Caldari State is -3.13, so that proves it... Unbelivable Ugh

Finishing sixteen normal missions with good result gives you one storyline missions of the same level. For example, doing sixteen level three mission will get you an invitation from one level three storyline agent.

Worth noting that it isn't totally Accurate anymore. SOE are no longer liked by everyone, just Gal/Minm.
Interbus IS liked by everyone, but they don't offer Storyline Missions, cause CCP doesn't want everyone to like us easily :p :D

T o join FW you must have 0.0 standing or higher with the faction you want to join.

Quote:
3.Any entity, pilot or corporation, is required to have and maintain a standing of 0.0 or higher with the faction they intend to enlist for and to retain that standing in order to remain enlisted. Note that social skills are not taken into account for this requirement, only the raw unmodified standing counts.

Yes I did, seeing as how my post contained a lot more than just how many missions you need to do before getting a Storyline Mission. And that part clearly said I wasn't positive.

Besides the interval between story lines there is an error with how often you can turn down missions.
You can turn down 1 mission per AGENT every 4 hours without a standings penalty, emphasis on the agent as that is all that matters. You can turn down missions from multiple agents in that 4 hours and will not incur a standing penalty even if they are all affiliated with the same NPC.

If you are running missions for standings then a good general rule is to turn down any mission that has your fighting a faction you want to increase standing with or any faction that is freindly towards them. In this case your Caldari agents likely had you running missions against the Gallente which affect your Minmatar standings as well.

@ OP: Find a FW player corp. Apply to join it. Once in, do FW missions. Successfully completing the missions will allow you to advance in rank in the militia. Each rank advancement will drastically improve your standing with that militia.

Each promotion earns you faction standing as follows:

Rank 1: get for free.
Rank 2: +4.4198%
Rank 3: +6.4198%
Rank 4: +8.4198%
Rank 5: +10.4198%
Rank 6: +12.4198%
Rank 7: +14.4198%
Rank 8: +16.4198%
Rank 9: +18.4198%
Rank 10: +20.0%
