+1 but only if the change is deeper and also makes sentry more balanced (or ships carrying them...) Sentries should be able to move (but very slowly) but fire only when stationary. When there is a cloud of them it is impossible to pick up your set...

Anyway what they need is a drone control range of 10-15 km so to use them you have to stick around to relay targeting data. This would fix Ishtar as it would be forced to use medium or heavy drones if it would like to kite.

The way I see it if you want to act as artillery you need to be more or less stationary.

Not that I disagree with sentries having to be stationary but I still have to wonder why this when the only other form of player controlled artillery in the game that is stationary is the POS guns.

10m/s is a very slow speed. the difference in time for scooping them will be insignificant unless you are further than 'just out of reach'. If you buff them to a point where you do get a significant amount of time saved, you are making them safer to use whilst you mitigate damage by moving. Thats a buff they dont need.

Maybe theres a sweet spot, but by allowing sentries to be mobile at the same time as easier to safely recall (something that is meant to be a weakness of the currently mobile drones) is a massive buff indeed.

They actually move 1 m/s when told to recall, or at least they did last time I checked a few expansions ago.

Not that that's very helpful, but hey..

I believe this is how they make the drones face their target.

This is such an awesome idea.

So with 3-4 drone navigation modules, would this increase to ~20 m/s?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

I rather don't want them to move at 10 m/s as this would make structure shooting a nightmare. If you let sentries shoot a tower/any structure for long enough, they wander around and circle the structure with their 1 m/s of speed, spreading them out over a wide area, which makes retrieval a pain. Furthermore, in case of active POS with FFs, they even tend to stroll inside the FF, where you can't retrieve them at all. Having them move even faster, would just amplify that and you would have to recall them a lot more regularly.

Now, you could also argue that this would be a bigger downside of the weapon system and would require you to stay more focused, but I still think it would turn sentries into a pain.
