After a layoff from playing I am back and would like to know what would be the best course of action to the above title of this post.

If you know a manufacturer that will buy the BPCs from you, then it is feasible to do so. As long as you have the ISK to finance the materials, you will have a faster turnover if you build the ships and then sell those.

BPCs don't sell particularly fast. Some may buy them but I suspect most T2 ship manufacturers invent their own.

If you do want to sell, make sure you use a good decryptor when inventing.

It takes roughly the same skill to invent as to build.

Those able to build are less likely to buy T2 BPC.

You are always better-off building to access the widest market, but make sure it is worth building before starting.

I have a station warehouse full of T2 BPC that are not profitable to build today, but once were. They may be worth something again someday however.

I'll echo what others more knowledgeable than I have said here - if you have a buyer lined up with agreed profitable rates, then ok. Other than that build and sell the ships - the market fluidity for (most) ships is much higher.

Anecdote time:

For a while there, I was inventing 3 run Malediction BPCs in Amarr, tried to price them reasonably, using the Fuzzworks site as an approximate guide for pricing. They rarely sold. Recently got the skills to produce the ships, for an 'ok' level of profit (was relocating, wanted to firesale them), the ships sold out within the week.

Contract all of them to me at an exhorbitant price (e.g. 25 billion) so I can see all of them.

I'll make you an offer as to what I'd pay for them.

T2 blueprints can't be sold through the market, only contracts. The problem is the contracts window is such a pain in the ass to use that T2 builders rarely bother with it. Its simply more convenient to just go ahead and invent your own BPCs than try to find BPCs on sale for items you are interested in selling and figuring out which deals, if any, would be more profitable than making your own. Inventing BPCs is easy once you have the skills, and if you have the skills to produce the item you have most of the skills you need to invent the blueprint.

There used to be a barrier in the copy process, finding public stations to make copies for invention was such a pain serious T2 builders all had a lab POS to make T1 blueprint copies. When that barrier existed there was a little more market room for T2 BPC sellers, as there were a few newby T2 builders (with no POS) who had trouble inventing their own blueprints. But that barrier has been removed, you can now make all the copies you want at any public station with copy facilities. So there is less reason than ever for T2 builders to partner with separate BPC sellers.
