Ship lighting... getting silly.

This is in no way a complaint about the great work CCP is doing on keeping EVE graphically impressive. I am simply wondering what the thought was behind some of the ship lighting schemes.

Most specifically... the Tristan... and the new flashers on the bottom. They are pretty annoying. I am sure there are a couple other examples out there as well. As such, maybe it is time we had a blackout option. Please.

Player ideas about ship lighting are not new by the way... https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=336432
Another interesting idea I read was having ships go dim when the cap is depleted. That might be a bit too much in terms of graphical detail, but I am simply trying to point out that these ideas are not new and if we are going to be given lighting elements/schemes that are not really needed or wanted, then perhaps we should have a means to control them as well.

Edit: I am realizing this might be better served in the Features & Ideas Forum...

I actually really like the lighting effects.. Though i can understand most of your points, there is one that sticks out as.. Well.. Kinda dumb, the fact that the lights dim when your cap is dry, man, that makes sense, it is an awesome feature and lets a smart opponent know when he has you, it is more noticeable in some ships but others it takes a really careful eye to see it, i like it and i hope they stick to this trend and keep up the realism.

And i hate to tell you, but more players were asking for more realism then people wanting less, also, it is a game that is trying to keep up with the graphics of other games and trying to stay new and fresh (Which it is doing awesomely), if i wanted a game with the graphics of a 5 year old game i'd play a different game, it is an awesome feature,

And on a role-playing note, how does a ship keep its lights on when its battery is flat? i personally think when you cap is dry then your engines should cease to run too, would add some really cool depth to this game and make people watch there cap more then they do (Looking at Caldari pilots on that one) .

Anyways, i like the lighting, it suits the game, makes it more beautiful, and adds some PvP hints for when you know you are winning, embrace them.

On a side note, the Tristan's blinkers are pretty bright, but they will dull it down a bit soon, there have been a few things said already, made my eyes hurt a little when i went flying with my friends.. They had 6 Tristan's.. Was not fun..
