Crew ships.... Version 2 - Capitals with small turrets, governed by more pilots

Everyone at least once wondered "is there crew in our ships"?

Well, I wondered too, then I understood that our ships are commanded by only us, that with the Jovian capsule can send "via thoughts" our commands to the ship.

Much has been said about the possibility to add crew to our ships...

But now I want to go over this and ask: "why don't add SHIPS for OUR CREWS?"

Ok, we are capsuleers: we live in a capsule that sustains us and that interfaces us with our ship.

But what if MULTIPLE capsuleers could fly a SINGLE ship?

There could be an entire new class of ships that can be piloted by more capsuleers, each one ruling it's racks of modules, or maybe a re-adaptation of the biggest ship to allow multiple pilots to govern less powerful weapons, but more of them.

The intent is clear: create ships more powerful, with more than 8 max slots per rack, but which's strength is due to multiple pilots running it. Imagine the titans: they are HUGE, kilometres of lenght. They have 8 slots. For XL turrets is ok, they drown a lot of energy.

But why would them be able to just run 8 medium cannons, for example? What if a titan pilot would like to create a copy of a Star Destroyer, that has no HUGE weapons but has A TON of small weapons that can hit easily little ships?

So let's say that our Capsules can't actually allow the control of more than 8 slots per stack: too much information. But what if I can share the commands of a ship with another ally, or maybe 2 others?
Let's say that each weapon level gain doubles the power drain of the weapon (probably it's not the case, but let's say is this way). Then each Large turret drains as much as 4 small turrets. Why my ship that can fit 8 large turrets then, may not fit 32 small turrets? The explanation could be: our capsule can't manage more than 8 turrets. But with more capsules managing them this could be done!

Obviously only one pilot has the navigation controls.

So, this is just the beginning to a post in which I hope you would add your ideas about this possible feature.

What do you think about it? =)

+1 for ships that have more than one pilot. Not completely a fan of the other details, but the essence of the post - ships that can have multiple pilots, I like it.

EVE ships have and have alway had crews - its in EVE's lore.

Think of it this way.

POD pilot commands the ship (navigation, weapons, computers)

"Oh noes, my blaster doesnt work"
Automated repair systems activated.

"Oh noes, the automated repaid systems is malfunctioning"
Dispatch John, the ships blaster engineer

"Uh, hi, this is John the Blaster Engineer. I fixed the blaster but uh...its lunch time, whats on the menu?"
Cook, make some fried chicken and mashed potatoes

"Hi, this is Freddy the cook, I need more chicken. I ran out"
Maurice the supply cheif is informed

"Hey, this Maurice, the supply chief. One of my guys had a box of chicken fall on him - I think he broke his leg"
Beverly Crusher, the medical cheif is informed

"Hi, this is Dr. Crusher. The supply guy is ok, his leg is fine, but I think someone stole some Quafe from my quarters"
Worf is informed

"This is Worf, in Crushers room. The logs show notthing"

I think you see where this is going

TLDR - EVE ships have crews.

You missed the point. He wants real players as crew.

Player 1 controls weapon rack 1 + navigation
Player 2 controls weapon rack 2
Player 3 controls weapon rack 3
etc etc

FYP ^_^

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Why not

Player 1 navigation
Player 2 controls weapon rack 1
Player 3 controls weapon rack 2
etc etc

so that with only one player he'll have to switch between moving and shooting.
